| Some 10/10s I have not on your list are Parasyte: the maxim, Deca-Dence, Log horizon Season 1, Death Parade, Violet Evergarden, and Code geass R2 (really I thought R2 only deserved a 9 maybe even an 8, but the ending brought the entire season up to a 10). |

| I believe Legend of the Galactic Heroes (Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu) is deserving of a 10 for how epic it is. Sure, it does have some issues and it shows it's age but overall I think it deserves a 10. |

| Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I just finished watching it, after not expecting to be all that into it and being intimidated by its length, but its content supports its length and I often found myself watching 3 or 4 episodes consecutively. The main thing is that it does quite a good job of exploring the flaws and benefits of democratic rule, and it does this quite well through its characters by setting up a tension between a reluctant commander who works under a corrupt government and an autocratic ruler who is actually relatively benevolent. The characters' values, behaviours and reactions are generally convincing and fairly well developed. I also love how in its portrayal of conflict it avoids making life seem expendable - during spaceship battles, it makes a point of cutting to the interior of the ships as they blow up so you can see the crew's horrible deaths, so you get a real sense of there being a loss of actual human life. Another detail I enjoyed was how in hand-to-hand combat, rather than using some hi-tech sci fi weapon, they all just wield these massive tomahawks, driving home this visceral sense of brutality. If you've got a couple of weeks to commit to it, it's worth it - fast became one of my favourites alongside Serial Experiments Lain and Now and Then Here and There. |
