Certainly better than Fumiko's Confession. This had a few rather interesting themes of loneliness (the girl running out into the street and finding company), loss (robot breaking down), reacquantance (the old lady and the robot), and environmentalism (heavy rain in contrast to the bustling bright street). I'd give this a 6/10 as it left me a lot to think about. |

Very interesting film, which explores deep into simple themes in such short amount of time. And add to that the rain, this is perfection itself. 10/10. |

Very nice little short with beautiful animation and sound. I watched some parts over for a little bit, as I was not sure that it was all a flashback. This was a hear-warming story. |

That was a nice background music. So is the flashback of the kid's grandma? It was Overall a bit sad but weird and I didn't get them. But nonetheless it was good. 7/10. |

Very calming and relaxing and I can't appreciate the music enough. It was sad when the robot broke. |

This was kinda cute. Great art and the music, while kinda got a bit repetitive, was nice to listen to. Did take me a moment to parse our the story with the flashback and what-not, but it's told well enough and I like using colour to identify the characters. Not much to. 6/10, didn't leave much of an emotional impact on me, and I'm not sure this will stick with me but I enjoyed the atmosphere and tale a decent amount. |

Awww that was so cute ! I was a bit confused at first but after reading a youtube comment explaining the story, I can say without doubt that I love this short (I loved it even without understanding anyway). Those kind of stories are some of my favorites. It is very sad in a way, the robot has been left alone a first time, then found a new friend in the first one's granddaughter but he was unfortunately so old he couldn't follow, and then the granddaughter and her grandma come back anyway but since he's pretty much dead now, they can only take his head and use it for... Well whatever they'll use it for, just so that he isn't alone and forgotten anymore even though he died... The bittersweetness is strong here. And the atmospheric aspect of the show is so well done. I give it a 8, it is truly well done and I'll watch it again to understand things better as there are probably many, many things to take from every detail. |

One of the most boring anime shorts I have ever seen, I felt nothing watching this. Reading everyone praising Rain Town as something special makes me wonder If I really watched the same thing. |

wow i really loved this, the vibe that this portrayed was absolutely wonderful. the visuals were beaituful as well, the unique animation and the very nice colour palette too; the soft rain with the piano in the background really helped to set the atmosphere as well. the story was simple but it did the job and i thought it was great for a story like this - those flashbacks and stuff were also a nice addition. the characters were pretty interesting too, that metal guy and the girl with the yellow raincoat were really cool. overall i enjoyed this quite a lot, a 5/10. |

Another classic short film on MAL I've find ally gotten around to. Unsurprisingly, it was very good, and especially so for a student film. Lovely rain aesthetic that was both peaceful and melancholic. Subtle, but emotional story. |
