Really big oof this episode, my heart honestly feels sad. I know they did fucked up shit, but they had their reasons. I hope they do have a happy end, wherever they go.

Going by the tone of the ending, it's most likely that they didn't make it to the Spade Kingdom. Especially with the symbolism of the wavering masks at the end. But I could be wrong. Overall, I really enjoyed this arc. Despite a lot of people's criticism of it, I liked the overall theme of it. Most of the time we've seen the Magic Knights deal with issues outside of their kingdom. But we've never seen them deal with issues from within.

I'm not the biggest fan of this arc, but is there any possibility that with this whole yuri relationship between Dazu and Bow, a mass movement of people who feel discriminated against, government confrontation and exodus with the threat that others would take up their cause if change isn't enacted.... is some kind of allegory for same-sex rights and the LGBTQ Movement? I know yuri and yaoi are nothing new in the anime genre, but something about this whole progression of events feels like it could be alluding to something. Just a thought.

I don't know if it would be a hidden message in regards to that topic. It's definitely the first time I've seen Black Clover support yuri romance. I don't pay much attention to yaoi and yuri anime, but I feel like LGBTQ relationships have already been becoming more prominent in TV programs over the most recent years. I think their message was moreso that more people like them will emerge and revolt if the Clover Kingdom remains unchanged in its discrimination against people with little or no magic.

Wow, I can't remember a shounen going full yuri like this, but it's also anime original so... Still, nice conclusion to this arc and surprisingly touching.

Oh so there was still a part from Dazu's memories that wasn't revealed until now. This makes me understand her when she talked about her family looking down on her. What that shit said was unforgivable, but still going to spade kingdom to get the devil's power? How stupid are you, they will probably just kill you or something. This was a good filler arc, though at this point it's not really a filler. Important characters have died (talking about Mole Chin's subordinate (I forgot his name). Yes, he wasn't revealed, but his position was kind of important. What I didn't like in this arc thought was that yuri kind of relationship between Dazu and that other herbs girl. It was annoying. But overall good arc.

Not a great arc and I didn't like it's ending. Really? They got away scot free? They kidnapped two people, incited violence, and killed three people. I think that's pretty fucked. Especially since the scale guy is like, we must kill Asta and the devils! Let's not forget Marie went on trial too. And yet, after all that, "Just leave." I mean come on. I thought that the arc wasn't very good, but the ending also added to it. They should have been punished.

They are walking to their deaths since they probably didn't make it to the Spade Kingdom. So it's not like they got away scot free.

But they did get away from their crime scot free. I'm not questioning what happened after they got away with their crime, but the fact that they did get away with their crime. Also, it's not even confirmed if they are dead, without official confirmation I'm not really positive they died. But besides, the fact that the scale dude was so butt hurt about Marie not having justice enacted on her when it was outside of her volition but did allow the real criminals to get away with their crime is messed up. His scales must have been pretty fucked up that day.

I guess I can understand that. But the scale guy upholds justice in his own way. The devil believers were cast aside from the kingdom and not helped, which caused them to attack. They were wrong, but the root cause was due to the kingdom's actions. Maybe that's why he said they should be exiled instead. Plus, if they are executed then it might bring forth another faction who feels like this was unfair.

Exiling them would help the kingdom find peace and maybe right their wrongs. It seems like a cop out, but he's looking at the bigger picture.

Plus, with their weak mana they are dead so it's a death sentence. Even it they live, the Spade Kingdom is much worse do they'll die they way instead. They are walking to their deaths.

I know that the scale guy upholds justice in his own way, this just doesn't seem consistent with the way he has previously upheld justice. You are right, "they were wrong" but Asta and Marie weren't "wrong" because they weren't even in control. And even then, the actions of the elves were because of the kingdom's actions. The kingdom eliminated their entire people. It was genocide. Asta and Marie's devils don't even kill anyone. That is not to say other elves don't, but in particular Asta and Marie don't kill anyone. They are still being held responsible. And the elf that controlled Marie had plenty of reason to be mad at the kingdom's actions because of, genocide. So the scale guys justice doesn't make sense in terms of the devil worshipers.

How does exiling them right their wrongs?

If it's already going to be a death sentence like you said, you might as well kill them and enact the justice that he believes it's right. Letting them go seems to contradict his sense of justice and doesn't really do anything in the grand scheme of things.

way too much exposition these last two episodes

people that treat low-mana users poorly are a-holes and i don't mind them dying. but these crazy bitches deserve to die, too

am i the only one that thinks the magic knights should've, you know, maybe helped transport all those people back home. if they're trying to convince the common people that they're going to actually help them, then maybe it's not a good start to *not* help them when they're in that type of region... just saying

i honestly think the main perpatrators of the Devil believers should be executed or atleast imprisoned for life. A sad and regretable life shouldn't be an excuse for their crimes. As in they killed 3 people, caused the death of two, organised a rebellion, planned and started treason, kidnapped two people and even attacked knights and put public safety to risk. letting them go is pretty much giving them what they wanted all along. That country should have like a covert squad in charge of assasinations and stuff. Those guys pose a credible future risk to the country as whole.

How pleasing!
This filler arc is a bag of mixed emotions, for one, I really like the thought of an original anime-only arc, even if it's obviously a filler, it's quite nice, the beginning of the arc is a pretty great way to start the arc off, them there's this ending which is honestly a pretty satisfying way to end the arc, all the peasants return believing ion the Magic Knights for once, and the 5 remaining Devil Believers go hand in hand as they walk towards their deaths. I want to highlight these facts...

I am glad that these 5 wannabes do end up dying, ofc we never get to see any sort of that from happening but the heavy implication all points towards their eventual, only deaths at the hand of the powerful, all-terrifying nature.

I love yuri, I adore those sort of comfy relationship, but these 2 lesbians are unlikeable, their intimacy disgusts me to no end SOLELY because of their stupid dreams, pathetic goals and their antagonistic actions in order to achieve said drams and goals. Fuck you both, you can go right ahead and be chilled into tiny little shards of ice as your corpse gets devoured by the magical beasts. End of the line for you, bye-bye!!!

Now aside from that, the ending as I mentioned, was wonderful, with one thing that really caught my attention, which is when one of the Devil Believers said that if the problems of the kingdom weren't fixed, there'll be more people with similar sets of goals and mindsets who'll emerge from the shadows. That alone reinforces the push for a transformation in the kingdom and Asta will be the catalyst. One day he'll be the wizard king, and all the forsaken peasants and no-named outcasts shall look towards him as a person who they all should aspire to be.

Wonderful filler arc, stupid characters, brilliant morals of the story...

Damn this action was intense a nice fight they put up against that Magical Beast, The captains doesn't disappoint when it comes to combat even so when they work together as a team they're almost unstoppable

An unexpected guest has arrived Vangeance to lay down a speech of his' A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one, Finally talking sense to those people who blindly follow power that could lead to their existential crisis which they had in their favor

Glad that Nero is safe and sound now that she's been unhanded, Exiled well they deserved it using violence as their advantage point to get what they desire truly selfish people, This arc had a sad yet gloomy vibe to it and the end was somehow fulfilling as Nero and Marie were released.

I had a surprising surge of the feels for Dazu and Bow. It seemed as if they should have received a greater punishment from Damnatio, but I guess the tipping from darkness to light included the suffering that non-magical folks experienced. Dazu saying she wishes she could have been like Asta suggests she and bow don't plan to change. I assume we will never learn of their fate as they attempt to reach the spade kingdom. That's OK with me. The message that people will always rise up from oppression is pretty strong and timeless. If that was the point of this whole arc then so be it. Still, I'm ready to turn the page on a new chapter.

On a lighter note I could probably watch a whole episode of Nero just walking around. Her mannerisms and outfit are just adorable. Dat miniskirt. Yes, sometimes I'm just that shallow. But it's my crush so deal with it! :)

Though it dragged a bit, I was pretty impressed by the heavy subject matter this arc tackled. Although letting them go seemed a bit odd at first, it was strongly implied that they wouldn't survive the journey, so letting them basically choose how and where they were going to die was a merciful gesture.

I also liked how the relationship between Dazu and her family was rather vague for most of this arc. She claimed they were awful, but we were never explicitly shown that until the last moment. There was a point during these last two episodes where, given her extremist behavior and very generalized views of those more priviledged than herself ("They're all the same", etc.), it wasn't unreasonable to start thinking that it was all in her head. That she believed so strongly the world was against her that she saw what she wanted to see in everyone else's behavior to confirm her own biases. Perhaps that would've been a more interesting twist, but the more sympathetic ending we got for her was still good.

Yeah, that was a kind of good arc actually; I did like it and enjoy it. I guess the highest praise I could give it is that I wouldn't have thought it to be a filler arc if didn't know beforehand. I definitely appreciated the slightly darker tone that it went for. It's a tone that I think Black Clover as a whole could benefit more from rather than just having a simple, playful, light-hearted tone most of the time.

edit: but when it comes to Dazu and Bow and these dEViL BELiEVeRs in general, their motivations are one-dimensional and borderline comical. I mean it really is just "I WANT POWER". While the main reason why they want THE POWER is so that they'll be stop being looked down upon, the lengths that these crazies go through just for some status and clout just makes them look like terrorists- which they basically were. Scale-guy should've just executed them then and there. Although I do prefer how things did turn out in him exiling them instead, instead of what I feared and expected to happen: him about to execute them but then Asta or someone else intervenes and says some total BS in that perhaps they "don't deserve to die" or "we're all the same" or "it's wrong to kill people" or you know, the typical goody goody speech that is annoying and always cock-blocks us from the good stuff. That honestly would've been painful to watch. So scale-guy simply exiles them, which is fine, as I actually KIND OF want to see these lunatics again before the anime ends. But the best way this could've go down is for scale-guy to actually execute them, and then everyone around to be stunned in awe at the balls and badassery of scale-guy. But this your typical shounen- so only feel-good vibes are allowed here. Oh well

Anyway, we have about 10 episodes to go of filler-type episodes before we start the home stretch of this anime which appears to be from the episode ratings, straight fire.
