Yeah pretty much.

I usually finish anime pretty quickly after I start it--the reason I have for taking long on another is usually because said anime might be a bit boring.

I do, I am going to try to stop finding new things and try to finish my list, but.... One Piece is amazing and has 475 episodes and I am not even near it. I might finish One Piece before finishing my list

I used to finish every anime I watched....but lately if I even forget to watch the episode that airs that week or a completed anime that I started watching and dont watch it in a few days...I tend to just stop watching and never be in the mood to watch it even though I want to finish it sooner or later.

I wouldn't say it's a habit...I guess

There are select number of anime that I will finish (for one reason or another) even if it's not up to my liking.

And then there are anime that I start and if after 3 or 4 episodes it still doesn't capture my interest then I drop them.

Normally when I start a series I watch around 1-2 episodes every few days.
Then when I reach about 50% of the series I really get into the story and finish the second half in a day or two

I always do this I started watching clannad after story. I got to episode 9 or so. And after a few days of not watching it I'm like "zOMG!!1 high school of the dead OMGWTFBBQ". and I haven't watched after story since although I really should because it's apparently one of the best anime ever or so I heard.

Sometime. Usually. Probably.

Mostly not, actually.

With ongoing series I sometimes dicide to let a few episodes go by so I can watch them in a bunch and forget about them for ages.

If you are watching another anime when you already started one, this means danger.

You probably didn't liked it. I always try finishing a serie in one day. It feels awkward but better than doing it in 2-3 months.

I've dropped more Animes than I've watched... reason is very simple... there are alot of crap Animes out there... that just fails to get mah attention.

If I find several good Animes I tend to watch em all at once.
Like for example, I watched Da Capo, Bokura Ga Ita, Shuffle! and School Rumble at the "same" time.

I do that, although I always pick them back up a while later. I'm in the process of finishing Nabari No Ou, which I started in January.

I have this policy where I finish everything that I start. But that changed ever since I saw Seitokai Yakuindomo.

I just had to drop that shit.

No, I start and finish 5-15 anime per season regularly with no trouble. If I am enjoying something I want to keep watching that one thing. I am like the black dog when I find a complete show I like, once I bite down I never let go. I'll just sit down all day and marathon it.

I do occasionally put things on hold sometimes though, because I'm not that into it, an irregular release schedule such as OVAs, or I can't get a hold of the episodes but still want to finish it.

I do it all the time, although I usually finish them eventually for the most part.
On my list everything besides completed contains anime I've dropped. Ive have Yakitate Japan on my watching list for 2 years but haven't watched an episode in over a year, Umineko is on dropped but I watched a few episodes last week etc. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood/lose appeal.

i used to do that to the point that i can not even remember half the stuff. i used to get distracted easily so would move on and forget about series.
have stopped doing that now and am making a conscious effort to try and finish series i start rather then dropping/ putting them on hold indefinitely.

MAL and the listing feature kinda prevent that from happening. I do it a lot more with western TV series, where I probably only fish less than half of those that I start, maybe even less than a third of them, and most of them without ever deciding to drop them either, I just kinda discontinue them for no specific reason.

But for anime the listing feature makes me more aware of what I started and I usually try to decide quickly whether I'll finish something or drop it. There isn't any 'Oh, right, I started this 6 months ago and forgot about it after one session'.
I probably regret this post by now.

yeah that's me, i think i have like 20 animes in hold rn

i think there are reasons for that:
1- i like diversity
2-i like watching the anime without rushing it as much as posibble.
3-i'm excited for a lot of shows at the same time.

Me, I do that a lot especially when the anime is still ongoing. I could only wait 2/3 weeks for new episodes then I get bored of waiting and would put them in my On Hold list and not watching them for years.

Always curious how random people find topics from 10 year ago to bring back.

I would say I only finish about half of the shows I attempt each season. My dropped list is probably missing a digit.

Me!!!! I am ashamed
One example is Nichijou. (Some of you are probably apsalutely freaking out) So I watched 8 episodes and I havn't picked it back up. (And I started it almost a year ago. And I'm getting the manga for my birthday. So, it's gonna be almost a full year hiatus! ) But I am gonna read the manga! So... Watch out for that. I decided to read the manga instead because it's more material to enjoy. Also, I need to read more manga.
And if I don't binge a show I forgot to watch unless it's a really good show like Shingeki no Kyojin or Great Pretender. (Which I'm still waiting for the new episodes!!! Ahhh! Y do u hav meh wait 4 so long!!!!)

I do that all the time. My curiosity always leads me to start new shows before finishing the ones I'm currently watching, I'm always excited to discover new things, and that's how I ended with 19 shows on my Currently Watching list and 52 on hold.
Some months ago, I actually became able to control my urge of starting new shows and had a very clean list as a result, but my demons have overtaken me once again... I'm so weak.
