| Man, would this ever be a disaster. Thankfully MAL has no intention of ever doing this. Some sites actually do combine entries, though, like AniDB. If you want to have entries open back up after half a decade and be forced to watch the sequel so you can reclaim completeness of it and be forced to watch shitty OVAs and non-canon sequels just so you don't have to call an anime dropped then please, be my guest. One thing I would like, though, is for split cours to be combined. It seems silly for something Japan had considered to be a single two cour season that simply aired over the course of 9 months with a 3 month section in the middle where nothing aired to suddenly be treated as two seasons instead. |

I agree, especially if it's planned as 2cour ahead of time (Re:Zero S2, AoT S3, Valvrave, GATE, SAO Alicization War of Underworld - The two parts of Alicization make sense being separate though since they are considered separate seasons in most places). Though, the only way would be to do it retroactively and make it apply to 3-6 month breaks at most. Reopening old series wouldn't work though (IE Index with s3, FMP with IV) since users would have long since "completed" the anime seasons already out and those series had 5+ years between seasons. |

| This would be awful, except for the case of Gintama. I guess you can merge the first 3 seasons together, but idk. It's a desperate attempt to decrease the number of Gintama entries on the Top 100. As baseless as it sounds, having 20 Gintamas on the Top 100 is straight-up annoying, even for someone who loves the show like me. Just perish. 1 Gintama at the 3rd place is enough, and I believe everyone should be happy? |

| People tend to rate OVAs and Specials way lover than the TV series, so that would fuck up the entire scoring system. Also there is a bunch of cases where some seasons are better than the others (Nanatsu no Taizai, Tokyo Ghoul, OPM, etc.). Something like MAL graph would probably be useful tho. |
