I cant really relate with people who loves kuuderes. To me they just seem to be a more livelier stone than usual. They seem just uninterested and generally bothered with social interactions. So what makes a kuudere so moe/kawaii or likeable?

guys and girls, there are more personality traits than to pick on tsunderes. Leave my queen Rin Thosaka alone

I would say no, because I really tend not to. But Yin exists, so...

Mostly kuudere nowadays usually depend on that one gimmick as their character trait.
I honestly do not like this trope because it is just lazy characterization.

However if there's a great backstory justify why a character is always quiet, maybe past trauma, then I'd like the character more.

Male kuuderes are the best! Mitsumine Hakuya is my favorite boy of this type, he’s the most precious.
If you’re a fan of male kuu-chans - try Kirishima Kaoru’s route in Our Two Bedroom Story. He’s perfect in every way.

Not all the time. Some are fine, but most are just as boring as their personalities. I'm a tsundere lover so I prefer the hot-blooded and fiery types over the stoic and stone-faced ones.

Idk man with girls i like it when they do it right and not give it to just anyone with guys it made them look cooler and strong of course it also depends on the character look and anime.
Example: Ayanokouji Kiyotaka(Classroom Of The Elite)
Don't fuck up the present, it's connected to your future!

In a vacuum they aren't very interesting but in context I can like them a lot. If there is a reason they're so withdrawn and getting them out of their shell and more comfortable around people is part of the anime. But if it's just an unexplained and untreated gimmick I'm not a fan, or just the result of the girl being a robot or whatever.

But if they are a genuine, 3-dimensional character they can be great because getting them to open up and start showing some emotions is very rewarding.
I probably regret this post by now.

I love kuuderes (eg Kokkoro in PriConne, Origami Tobichi in Date A Live, Arin in Trinity Seven or Koneko in Highschool DxD).

They tend to have a dry witty humour that I find appealing in women, and more often than not they tend to be more forward, or at least not as timid sexually as their counterpart tsunderes.

I also agree with @Pullman above, watching a shy, timid person open up out of their shell can be very rewarding for the audience.

I like kuuderes when they actually have a role in the series and show development. If they exist for the sake of a harem not so much

for me i don't care if the girl is kuudere tsundere or yandere there are a lot of things that can play better roles in making the character better like: being useful, not annoying, no forced romance with MC.

also it depends on the author, he can make kuudere boring and not having no impact at all, or not.

and most of kuuderes i saw are boring.

those "lazy" characters have something unique - no tsundereness (?)
basically, they dont get annoyed/flustered for every god damn thing main character says and you can actually hear a normal conversation and not get annoyed hearing baka every 3 fucking seconds

there are more tsundere's than Taiga for example Rin Thosaka from fate

And it wont necessarily need to take the opposite character type, just look at deredere or kamideres, they are a lot more likeable

I love them, but they only work in fiction.

I like Kuuderes who have more of dry wit or sarcastic tone to them. That's why I think C.C. from Code Geass is the greatest kuudere in all of anime.

Although my main problem with the kuudere trope is how often writers just think making them emotionless is enough. Being emotionless can be a personality trait (as weird and backwards as that sounds) but when emotionless is there only personality trait then you just have bland and boring character.

Although with all that being said the kuudere trope is probably my second favorite out of the main 5 dere-types since the second most tolerable even when done poorly in an anime. A badly written kuudere will always be more tolerable than a badly written tsundere. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Kuuderes are fun because you're always waiting to see how they react to certain things and wonder what they are thinking and what they are about to say.

My first anime was Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo and Mashiro Shiina the character why I saw that anime. Probably if I had started watching anime with other series then I wouldn't mind about kuuderes, but I must confess I've a guilty pleasure on them.

(Sorry if something is written like poop, I'm not a native speaker)

Yes, Nagato Yuki (Suzumiya Haruhi series) has cute side like her liking video games and "she isn't really emotionless after all" kind of trope, she can feel bored and she develop as a programmed being.
But even before all of that, Yuki already had a charm since the beginning because she is awesome as a secret guardian. It looks like she was the one who always saved the day. I think it's natural to like her especially when we compared her to the other girls in that series.

I also agree with one point above, kuudere is hardly an annoying character. Even if you don't like them in particular, it's also hard to find a reason for hating them. The same thing doesn't apply to other types of personallity.
"The Slave is the have-not, the oppressed one with nothing to spare.
But because the Slave is in that despairing situation, having nothing, it can kill the Emperor !"
