THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
This episode was much better than the first IMO. The animation has also improved, and the character designs are starting to grow on me.

Storyline doesn't progress that much, but this episode helps create a much nicer setting and feel for this world.

Nice cliffhanger as well... Hard to tell whether he will die or not, depending on how significant [or insignificant] he actually is.

I also liked this episode better. The story becomes so interesting, that I don't care about any slight imperfections anymore. Btw, though I didn't like the OP and the ED at first, now, for some reason, they seem suitable.
I can't wait for the next episode.

yeah, this episode was better than the last one. I get the feeling that the Armed Librarians are actually the bad guys and that Volken will realize this eventually.

This ep sure jumped around a lot, between the librarians and the meatkid. But it was actiony, especially at the end when Boobs was slinging rocks at meats. Meatkid has to live, he's getting into main character territory.

AniDB's description, if accurate (likely) kind of spoils what will happen in that regard.

The "books" our meat main character keeps finding of that one witch girl kind of point to her being dead (there was even a scene of her getting beheaded), but i get the feeling there is a chance she is still alive and obviously a major plot point. Her image/memory is what kept him going when he was ready to just let himself die.

Main character is going to die most likely unless he does something extraordinary to protect himself. He likely has some sort of magic powers, possibly from interacting with the book. This is heavily hinted at by last episode where sorceress revy says that the only man who could kill her might have just shown himself (basically, from memory) after showing scenes of him. The current guy with the witchblade thing isn't going to help him it looks like because he used the meats to lure her out there for some reason seemingly.

I'm liking this series. It is very dark and has the potential to have a very interesting story. The only series i look forward to more at the moment is darker than black s2.

Er... kinda boring, I guess? "Kill Hamyuts Meseta" bla bla bla... Doesnt he have anything better to say throughout the ep? And also "Ningen ja nai, Katsura....er bakudan da!!!" Where did I hear this famous phrase before, I wonder?

The story isn't bad, it's mediocre so I guess I might give it 3 more eps as I usually do for shows that I consider "passed" after the 1st ep, in case it's a late bloomer kinda show <_<

If he's not with us, he's AGAINST us!!!

Very convenient way to kill the meat i must say, she just used a slinger and a stone, it's cheap and effective..

So many mystery about this story, i can't guess which is the bad guy or good guy for now, and Colio probably the main character..

I'm curious about the ever-laughing witch, at least that will keep me watching

The Armed Librarians the bad guys? they are trying to stop the meats from blowing up everyone and hes too pussy to realize and wants the meats to run around killing people i think hes more of the bad guy.

All in all,it was a decent episode but nothing more.I liked the fact that there was some explanation about the background and this True Men thing, but the "kill Meseta" line is becoming seriously annoying...

This series is underestimated. It has a good script, a good direction, a great atmopshere, and on top of that, aboce avergae production values and character design. Everything few quite well in these two first episodes, and it's by far one of the most adult (without being overly gore or too pointlessly sexually explicit, as a lot of these series tend to be) and original shows of the season, so it is clearly in my top 5 of this fall for the moment. Oh and it reminds me of Le Chevalier d'Eon more and more...

As was shown in the first episode, these meats' sole purpose in life is to kill said huge breasted librarian. We saw our main character being brain washed that he wasn't human and that he had to protect true men or whatever by killing her. That one line in particular was constantly repeated and it sounded like it was being repeated by the true man in this episode. It is their rallying cry and their purpose because they aren't human, they're just bombs with a target.

So no, i don't see why people have issue with them saying it often, but not excessively so.

i think this episode was much better then the first episode, i really enjoyed this. i think this anime has great potential to maybe even be in the top 5 best animes this season.

i loved the part when that woman started to kill off those meats, that was pretty intense. xD

ill rate this episode a 4/5, its getting better and i bet it will get even better and better (well at least i hope xD )

when i said that i didnt feel anything when i watched the first episode but in this episode i felt everything i needed to feel to like the episode :D

That's a pretty interesting story of Creation.
Anyway, still gotta say, the OP song is quite decent, mostly because I liked the OP's IN phantom, but the video part of it sucks, big time.

Hmm .. So why does Cigal have that spider-sword thingy that the witch had in the flashback in the 'book'?

And... Hamyuts Meseta's kinda.. overpowered? lawl
Also, Volkan's too soft

That's cross my mind too, i still don't know the ever-laughing witch is a bad girl, but Colio is not a bad guy, i don't think Volken will join the meatkid though even he still confused about Hamyuts XD

i think that neither side is good or bad.. each of their point of view has bad parts and good parts.. i think the plot of everything is that both sides actually misunderstood the thing that happened with that witch girl because neither of them knows the truth. and thats where the meatkid comes in, i mean he will probably read the whole book.. as an argument to that, that witch didn't seem as evil as described...
that's just a theory though..

Hamyuts Meseta...rubs me the wrong way. I don't like her. And even if Volken is soft and possibly a little naive, I like him. His compassion works well for me.

It's still boring like the first episode...but hopefully, once this series gets to the later episodes, it wouldn't be anymore.
Usually, even though they start this way, they'll end up greatly as the story goes on, so I'm waiting for that. :'3
I'm getting used to the OP sequence&song alike. The ED, not so...but whatever.
I couldn't completely concentrate as I was hungry but halfway, I enjoyed this episode.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Park Romi. xD
I'm really happy she voiced Hamyuts. ♥
Also, I really LOVE Hamyuts' character design. She looks so kick ass. x'3
Anyways, I can't wait for next week's episode. :']

That's true. I have to agree.
I like Le Chevalier D'eon; the story can be quite boring but if you give it a try, you'll enjoy it.
Aside from other series, this one takes the cake for being a mature series without adding ecchi in it or too much gore, like you said. :'D
And I like it that way. But yea, true that this will be underrated just because of this.
Either way, I don't mind coz I enjoy it the way it is.

The series drops a level with this episode. First most of the action found in the first is not here, and whatever presented is sort of lackluster. The characters are a bit on the weak side, not much development shown. We know what everyone is pretty much about. The meat boy, shows some promise for development. I don't think any of the Armed Librarians will change as they are supposed to cut and paste cliche heroes.

The story shows signs of devolving into 'We just need a reason to kill one another'. If that happens the interesting premise in the first episode would go to waste, unfortunately.

well as everyone has said above the animation is way better that the 1st ep....ppl didnt look disfigured...still found the ep boring...just like the colio's delimma...its kindof sad....most probably they show him fighting with the armed librarians and find the pathway to humanity , or volken comes to rescue him from getting killed by the black haired women( shes kind of wierd)....
still not enough to interest viewers that much...

I thought the same thing and had to do a check halfway through the episode.

As for the content of the story, what is so mature about what we're seeing? I don't get that this is adult at all. On the other hand it seems more adolescent than anything with it's emphasis on virtually nothing but big boobed women and killing. But we're not far along into the story to be able to say so. Maybe in the future, there will be characters dealing with appropriate internal struggles and thoughtful themes on display. Right now though, it's pulp fiction with terrible cgi and bad art design.

But this episode was better than last week at least.
