| I like Chizuru, but Kazuya is just plain pathetic. And he's a brainless moron. First off, there's some weird hentai shit where he starts getting turned on by the thought of his ex having sex with another man. Seriously, what the hell was that about? Then he decides to rent a girlfriend - and there's nothing wrong with doing so - to make himself feel better, but he is so disconnected from reality to not realize it's a service and that, obviously, she would be doing this with other guys. What a brainless git. He had no right to be angry with her, regardless of how distraught he was over his recent break-up. This guy's terrible. Maybe he'll get better, but yuck. Also remarkable how much Japan has been able to turn love into a commodity. I've watched so many host/hostess documentaries out there and only recently became aware of Japan's rental services. I guess if you're cool with it, it's fine. But it's always felt so manipulative to me. And don't ever catch feelings! And what if the worker ends up meeting some psycho dude? Sounds like a disaster. |
| I was very skeptical of the concept for this show, and found the first episode to be kind of a slog to get through. But that twist reveal at the end put things into a good context that I think will make for a fun show. What I assume will happen is that Chizuru and Kazuya are initially in that "No way would I like you, we're just doing this to not disappoint our family", but as the show develops, they realize that they do actually like each other, and end up having a real (albeit somewhat disfunctional with plenty of hijinks) relationship. Seems like it could be a lot of fun! |
| f*ck am I tired of this flavor of protagonist This expectedly turns out even worse than every time a bad sitcom uses some form of "pretend to date me" thing, and the comedy is entirely based around someone making a stupid face while overreacting to things. And yet, still manages to find time to cram in tawdry fanservice objectification of every single female in the show that isn't a hospital stricken grandmother. The premise may actually make it worse, because the protagonist here is a profoundly horrible person overall. He throws a tantrum that the girl he hired to pretend to be his girlfriend is just doing it for the money. Dude, are you familiar with the service industry at all? Do you pitch a fit when waiters leave after bringing you food instead of staying and eating with you? Probably. And then fantasize about them eating with other people. But for no reason whatsoever, she just smiles, lets him, and any little half gesture that he's not as big a dick as he really is, she forgives him and falls a little more in love with him. And we repeat that cycle, through lying to other people, to groping her, to further lies. If you removed the silly faces and sound effects, this would be pretty damn close to a psychological abuse story about gaslighting someone. There's no epiphany for him at the end of the episode. He doesn't grow and realize that he was being a scumbag to her, and probably his ex as well. He's not being presented as the misogynstic, manipulative jackass that he is. She doesn't dress him down for his attitude towards anything. She just blushes and squirms about what a nice guy he is, despite all evidence to the contrary. Seriously I want someone to tell me how is supposed to be enjoyed the waifus in this anime if I have to see this disgusting jerk at the same time. |

| personally dislike the MC personality, but the other than that is good.. hope there's some development in MC personality.. just don't make it worse than this please.. somehow, its not easy to not relate this to konosuba.. ..and, nice ed animation~ |
| I wasn't expecting this so cucky. I also disliked the saki reference with the whole nerdy girl appearance it felt cheap. Iam not giving up on the series yet but so far it feels like if queen bee got some talented animators and made a sfw anime . Heavy on the ntr and maybe some mind break to finish it of. |

| So the anime finally airs. We got to see Kazuya already on his crybaby mode eh? | I've been reading the manga for 2 years now so it was nice to see the first episode perfectly adapting the first chapter of the manga since the first few chapters are where I like the manga and continued reading it. LOL! I honestly thought Hayami Saori would be a perfect voice for Chizuru but I'm surprised they went with Sora Amamiya. Well, she's my favorite seiyuu so I'm quite happy with their choice. XD TMS is a pretty good studio so I look forward to seeing how will they make the anime "good." |

| i liked the art & animation, it was cute! that 5-star review at the end was cute too i liked chizuru her personality's great she's assertive but what a judgmental & misgyonistic MC lol so it's OK for him to hire her and he goes off on her for providing that said service?? lol ok MC in need of a reality check but excited to see how this goes hopefully MC gets some decent development, will keep watching! |

| Man I loved this episode, it has that Nisekoi vibe haha I've been waiting for an anime like this for so long I just hope mc choose the best girl this time :D Btw the art is simply amazing. Chizuru is just beautiful, can't wait for the next girls to be introduced in further episodes! |

Argument of it being manga and not real life doesn't stand because manga is set in realistic world, as in without fantasy/scifi elements. |
