hi, I'm looking for extremely sad anime which may make me cry, I want to experience this as I have never watched an anime that has made me that sad before, I would appreciate some suggestions.

Some of the anime considered sad that I have already watched are:

anohana
your lie in april
A silent voice
angel beats

also, I've been recommended Plastic Memories, but I've heard of a spoiler and cant get it out of my mind so I don't know if it will still be worth watching it, could someone also tell me if I should watch it or not?

These made me cry; if you're okay with different genres:
Wolf Children
Casshern Sins
Death Parade
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica/Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuioku-hen
Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Seisou-hen

Those are the bookends to the TV series. Much more serious and sad than the TV series.

Given your tastes I'd say pretty much any teen melodrama that Mari Okada wrote. NagiAsu or Toradora for example.

You can also search for anime adaptations of nakige visual novels. Nakige translates to "crying game" i.e. VNs that try to make you emotional.
Little Busters is similar in mood to Angel Beats and was written by the same guy.

If you have a cat or love cats in general, She and Her Cat: Everything Flows
Grave of the Fireflies
Barefoot Gen
If you've ever been in a long distance relationship or suffered from unrequited love, 5 Centimeters Per Second
Toradora's holiday episodes might move you
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 (maybe)
Full Moon wo Sagashite

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 (you likely won't cry until near the end... but the ending stuck with me for more than a week after I first saw it and I would think about it and start crying so... yep, I recommend!)

Naruto if you're looking for a longer anime (If naruto doesn't make you cry then something's wrong with you lol)

Somali and The Forest Spirit if you're looking for a shorter anime. Slice of Life / Supernatural (it will make you cry probably)

These might not make you break down into a hysterical fit of weeping but they'll probably make you choke up a bit at least.

https://myanimelist.net/anime/2167/Clannad - the reigning champ of sad anime. Bit of a time investment because the feels don't really kick in until the latter half of the second season.

https://myanimelist.net/anime/33091/Planetarian__Chiisana_Hoshi_no_Yume - this one is quite brief so you might want to start here to see if anime can even have that effect on you

Oh and yes, Plastic Memories is worth it. The show itself pretty much spoils the end.
