| Well, I just wanna say something to the people above here who are actually laughing this off: It's not really an issue to be completely laughed regardless if it's a 0.01 drop, because FMA:B's score very rarely does drop. If this was MHA or Erased, which are more like hype-train anime in nature, and continue to drop in rating with time, I wouldn't have been surprised. But this is FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the anime which has occupied the top spot on MAL for years, a show whose score has been rarely even seen to drop through years. So this is a bit surprising. I personally strongly suspect that it's actually the fanboy bot accounts of the Top ranked shows which have been down voting each other constantly which have been causing this steady drop in rankings of the Top 10 anime as seen recently. Is it really a mere coincidence that LoGH and all Gintama season's scores have been drastically dropping over the past few months or so? Even Steins;Gate, Hunter x Hunter (2011), Kimi no na wa & AoT Season 3 Part 2 have also been suffering the same predicament steadily, all due the various bot accounts of these top ranked shows downvoting each other & FMA:B is no exception. Man, I can't really wait now for the rating troll score plan to begin in two weeks so that the shows suffering in hands of the bot accounts can go back to their original rating again. |

| LMAO tfw FMA:B has stayed at the same score for so long that it has become one of MAL's protected patrimony and even has developed a committee dedicated in the preservation of its cultural influence and integrity in the database. |

You might have been saying the other way around if you had actually seen the show by now, since you were more likely than not to be blown away by this masterpiece. ;) ---------------------------- Anyways, referring some of the comments above regarding FMA:B's score having become a protected patrimony or something, while I won't deny that the FMA:B fanbase is one of the worst around here with the way they rampagingly downvote any other show which threatens to overtake their precious favourite, I'd still say that FMA:B does deserve mostly full credit for the high MAL score it has maintained through years. Because even in case some fanboy bot accounts have upvoted/boosted it's score via 10's, fanboys of the other top ranked shows have also downvoted FMA:B in retaliation as well, after FMA:B fanboys downvoted their favourites, as it has been evidently seen before. It's not as if the fanboys of the other shows have sat quiet after their favourites have been downvoted by FMA:B, they have been also doing the same as well to an extent. Like I remember, during the bug problem in FMA:B's score, while many FMA:B fanboy bot accounts were downvoting AoT Season 3 Part 2, some AoT fanboy bot accounts were also seen to be downvoting FMA:B too. So, FMA:B's score really isn't as "protected" as some people like to think here, especially if we considering the downvoting the show has faced from the fanboys of the other top ranked shows (just like the other top ranked shows have faced this problem too), because downvoting has far more of an effect than upvoting on shows ranked over 9.00, in that case it takes ten upvoted with 10's to neutralize a downvoted with 1. Without the downvoting the FMA:B fanboys have done to the other shows, FMA:B probably wouldn't have been ranked #1 by now, maybe it'd have been the 2015 Gintama which would've had that honour.....but still it'd have been very highly ranked regardless with pretty much similar MAL score, because like I stated above, while a few bot accounts have boosted it, some bot accounts have downvoted it too. |

Well I'm sorry if you feel that way, because in that case you're missing out on a really great anime. ;) Taking a look at your list it seems like that you have quite a good taste in anime & appreciate well-written & highly acclaimed anime, plus have a lean towards shounen as well, so I have a feeling that you're more likely than not to appreciate one of the best written shouben anime in terms of storytelling & characterization. I honestly feel quite the opposite way when people call an anime as one of the best things ever, in that case it makes me even more curious to check out & see what the hype is all about, but well, to each their own and it's understandable of couse if you feel the other way around. :) |
