THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That was really good 60 min Movie! The Onna Kenshi was Brutally Abused by the Goblin that killed her Teammates, and she seeks revenge on him, her sword got transferred to the Goblin Paladin, and also the last Battle with Goblin Slayer and Paladin was Really awesome! On the way were kind of moments of CGI, but that wasn't bad at all! "New year comes every year" . Goblin Slayer lol For me, 9/10 |

Just finished the movie in Tokyo, which despite the lack of subs, was still pretty easy to follow. Gotta say, it felt like the movie had just the right amount of grit, gore and violence for Goblin Slayer. Gotta admit I still find the overt allusions to rape quite distasteful, but it was really just one short scene which established the trauma that came into play later on in the movie. Enjoyed the pacing, it was Goblin Slayer f***ing up goblins in kind of a one-shot like story; just don't expect too much more out of it. Also the gratuitous bath scene was pretty fun. 8.5/10 |

I dont know how to feel about adapting the fifth light novel into a movie while skipping over light novels 3 and 4... Why does the studio think its a good idea to adapt story arcs out of order? They did this with season 1 by switching arcs around as well and made Sword Maiden being interested in Goblin Slayer make no sense.. |

Goblin Slayer’s group got to the task of rescue a group of adventurers that disappeared from their journey killing goblins. It began with a long summary about what occurred in the show, almost half of the movie, basically a recap, to then proceed to tell the story of Goblin Slayer and his group who went to investigate a castle, they found one survivor, a girl, obsessed with her sword, that got in hands of the goblin’s leader, so they as a group, planned how to infiltrate in the castle, rescue some other women and recover her sword, finishing in a showy fighting that ended in their way down from the mountain. To be honest, I don’t know or don’t remember the relevance of this for the parent story, just another adventure for Goblin Slayer in his way to eliminate every goblin living on earth. |

Unsure if every version has like a 25 minute recap but my viewing of the movie did which was a let down Hopefully its not actually apart of the movie normally Id say the movie was ok for what it was. Cant say I really care for the new girl who got raped and branded but the imagery of it was cool I guess. The first part of the movie had a recap of the first season with some commentary from the Priestess. Goblin Slayer and his group accepted a request to rescue the missing girl and of course to KILL SOME GOBLINS!! As always our Goblin Slayer has a genius plan to kill all the goblins perfectly and to retrieve the girl's sword. Overall, it was a very good movie, I liked it a lot and the ending song was very pleasant to the ears. Until the next time that we reunite with our heroes~! |

I've just started watching. every time a goblin gets hit, the camera either cuts away, or it happens outside the camera range or somebody is in the way so you won't see flesh meet steel. did they censor the whole thing? if so I'll drop it. |

Somehow... I expected more of the movie? Not sure what but I kind of miss the feeling that I had from the original TV Series. At the same time, the movie itself is short (partly because of the 'recap' with some explaining) and wished it was longer so it didn't feel too fast. The ending song is by "Mili", what can possibly go wrong there? Great ending song! At some parts, I got a "KOKIA" vibe :D |

Could easily skip the first 25 minutes or so - was just a recap from the Priestess's point of view, unfortunately the main part seemed rushed. Even allowing for the inferred rape scene it did seem toned down a little too much, all the goblin disembowelment always seems to be just out of camera-shot. Seemed more of an OVA than a movie Still a good dose of "Goblin Slaying" though... |

Oh man they should've just skipped the recap and just proceed with the 1st batch of adventurers who got outwitted by them goblins..... Too bad for the Noble Fencer, not only did she suffers from PTSD, she also was cursed. Ya know who ever is the Original creator of this series, probably ought consult metallurgists, cu'z Aluminium ain't the kind of metal that you used to make swords, kitchen knives for sure but not swords. |

I personally didn't mind the recap at the beginning though I wished that they could've spent that time getting more content for the movie. The girl that they rescued... poor girl. Getting abused by goblins, having her companions killed... She took her revenge at the end tho. A fine movie imo, we got to see Goblin Slayer in action. The way he killed the Goblin Paladin was so satisfying, and so was seeing all those disgusting goblins getting killed. Hoping for a second season. |

more goblin slayer is definitely welcome. as always i prefer an actual tv sequel to a movie sequel, even if the movie means much better production values (which we did not really see here anyway), but it was a good time. kinda bummed that we didn't get another "goblin slayer will return", but i guess it depends on financial success of the movie, the production committee and all that stuff. i'll still maintain hope of seeing orcbolg again on the small(or big) screen sometime in the future. |

i really enjoyed the movie, ive been waiting for more goblin slayer anime and was surprised to see it released today on BD/crunchy but will say the only thing i didnt like about this was the 25 to 30 min recap ..... i mean my god i hate when that happens because instead of getting new content we instead have to waste time on a recap... now if it was shorter id been ok with it but 25-30 mins long is a a bit overkill imo especially when the movie isnt very long to begin with nonetheless i enjoyed everything else now the only thing left is to hope this series gets a season 2 some time in the near future |

25 mins recap for an 1 hr movie lol. Also a pretty boring one as far as plot goes. (A small branch arc of a random girl) Action scene and music is pretty good but that's about it. I don't get why this need a stand alone movie. 2~3 episodes worth of contents. Also I was expecting Goblin Slayer to came out some genius plan to kill Goblins efficiently, but all I got is a girl messing everything up and they proceed to fight the whole hordes head on anyway? And win? What's the point of strategy then? This whole movie would have been even more boring if it's not full pack action because the plot is so thin it's almost none existent. Anyway I pretty much have a total flat emotion throughout the entire run time of movie. I feel nothing from it. No excitement, no sadness, , no sympathy, no curiosity of plot. Nothing. Still I give credit for the well-done action scene and presentation. |

1/3 was a recap which is a joke. What the manga is up to, it followed it pretty well. But the build up was pretty lack luster against the paladin. He struggled way more against a goblin king |

Crunchyroll shouldn't have advertised it as a movie, it messes with the expectations. Even Japan still refered to it as a Special episode/OVA. Anyway, I think it was a very fun experience overall but it's a shame they cut out some of the content from vol. 5. Oh well, the manga is still superior but I wont say I didn't enjoy this. Hope that in the future they do make an ACTUAL movie with a better budget and potentially an anime-only original storyline. It would be dope! |

Yup, ova + recap, it was ok, I like goblin slayer, we all know what we are going to see, aside from the snowflakes that still cry from fictional rage (i wonder why they bother watching anything else after ep 1 if they find it so disturbing). Still love the wacky party, still like the deadpan goblin slayer, still find it hilarious every time I turn on MAL and remember that they are actually named like their jobs. Hope to see more. |

As always Goblin Slayer being disappointing. It was just another cliché adventure with uninteresting characters hunting goblins. As it was a movie, i expected something better than the TV anime, but besides the plot being lazy, we still had that bad animation. Not to mention that it was total rubbish, the soundtrack was exciting at certain times and also had those arrows with poison inside, which by the way was the most elaborate thing in the movie, otherwise it was a total waste of time. |

But the main topic that cannot be overlooked is: Was it really necessary to summarize the entire TV anime for 25 minutes? Seriously, a 5-minute summary would be more than enough to remind the audience of previous adventures. I feel sorry for the people who spent money and time going to the cinema to see something like that. |
