Anime hatedoms are way more toxic than anime fandoms

I had this thought running in my mind for quite some long time. Some anime fandoms are really toxic about their favourite animes but the hatedoms surpasses that level of toxicity. Great examples are the fairy tail and Sao hatedoms and nowadays even bnha. They just flinch whenever they even see the names of these animes in some discussion and butt in to prove their points of how they are the worst animes ever made which is clearly not the case. If you don't like them, ignore related discussions. No need to insult the fans who love them cuz all them probably have one the biggest anime fanbases.

Of course, hate is inherenetly more toxic than love for something. That much should be obvious.
I probably regret this post by now.

They compensate because their favorite anime aren't as popular. It is pretty obvious, really.

I like popular anime myself,so obviously I am in no place to criticise those people.

It's all pretty pathetic really, getting butthurt over some scores. Wait until they get out in the real world.

I've only ever given a 1 to something where I couldn't even finish the first episode. I think BNHA got a 3 or 4 though which will upset some people.

It works the same way vice versa. Couple of examples:

Tens and tens of threads come up every season complaining about how someone wrote a negative review about their series as if that was somehow a bad thing or whatever. Some SAO fans are still salty to this day about their anime not being very well critically received and create discussions because of it, despite the fact that 99% of SAO's "haters" have given up discussing the issue ages ago. Not even talking about how half of the fandom communities still think people only hate and dislike popular stuff because it is "cool". To counter your point, it happens the other way around all the time. Fandoms butt in to not so positive discussions only to say how the guys discussing are just a bunch of haters.

To sum it up, both of these -doms have their extremes that should be ignored either way, but I don't think one is inherently worse than the other.

Higurashi Gou is the worst anime in existence.

From my personal experience a lot of fandoms aren't nearly as bad as people think. I've been fairly open about my opinions on certain popular anime and have never been attacked once by a fan.
Hell,I straight up dropped Gintama and the worst I've gotten is one fan asking me why I dropped it.

Hatedoms on the other hand have been a lot more vocal and obnoxious from what I've seen. But again, that's just my personal experience.

I think the existence itself of hatedoms is pretty stupid, but about what you said, I think it’s obvious. The thing I never understood is why the people whoes don’t like a show need to say it over and over, there and there. It’s like that in every community on the internet, it’s weird from my point of view.

I'd be surprised if hatedoms were less toxic than fandoms. The former has the word 'hate' in it after all. I'd have gotten it if you had said hatedoms were less logical than fandoms, or something along those lines, but your current statement couldn't be more obvious.

Some people claim that some fandoms are as toxic as hatedoms. And I posted this out of trigerredness when I saw some haters creeped into the Facebook page of anime trending to hate on yesterday's sao episode in the morning when it was clearly a very good episode.

And this is why I prefer to ignore anime community opinions on things.

People have literally turned anime tastes into social footballs.

Agree with you on that. Pretty sure that everyone realised that one way or another.

Have you seen re zero fandom?
Like 5% or less actually discuss story and light novel, while everyone else is too busy participating in waifu wars.

I'm glad I'm not a part of any fandom.

I have never seen an anime hate group in the wild, but it sounds awfully toxic.

In some cases I agree, but there are a few exceptions to the rule.

Oh boy. You're better off not meeting with them. Especially the SAO and Fairy Tail ones. Even though I hate Fairy Tail as well, I get annoyed by those haters.

Every "hatedom" is as toxic as its fandom is. MHAs fanbase was toxic and it got backlash and now it has its own hatebase which is toxic, Kimetsu no Yaiba fandom was extremely toxic after episode 19 and in return got its own toxic hatedom.

Ah yes, the Emilia hatedom is probably the worst, so much so that i immediately dislike anyone with Rem in their favorites...

which makes me a certified member of the Rem hatedom.

People saying Emilia does nothing or has no personality are just funny and have zero understanding of her character.

Yes, I fully agree.

I just got criticized AGAIN for liking something a few weeks ago. TO MY FACE.

Me: LET PEOPLE LIKE THINGS.

Person: 'Yes, you're allowed to like the thing but I am allowed to make fun of you for liking the thing."

Me: *thinking* But you SHOULDN'T as that just makes you an asshole?

What's even the personal gain here? It's f*cking bullying.

i personally enjoy SAO & Fairy tail and didn't care about SAO and Fairy tail hatedoms, but i admit that both shows have a huge gap mistakes that some people tend to hate the show blindly.

have you seen BnHA fandoms and what they did to it's author? the show itself was good but the fandom itself is soooo toxic than all the anime hatedoms you're talking about.

no, the fandoms is toxic as the hatedoms.

Of course, it's best to ignore it.
Arguing with a bunch of strangers online about cartoons is silly.

It's a case by case scenario. Sometimes the fandoms can be awfully toxic compared to the actual hatedoms. I mean, didn't Hideaki Anno get actual death threads from Evangelion fans because of the final two episodes? That's about as toxic as it gets. And lately his studio got threats like that again because some guy was pissed his mail towards the studio didn't get answered.
