| Chrysanthemums are still pretty popular in Japan and remain one of the national symbols, since they're on the imperial seal. They retain all sorts of varied symbolism in Japanese culture, depending on how its used. The most famous types are called "kiku" (which are the large, inwardly-cuved, "ball-looking" ones, rather than the ones that look like a daisy that most people in the West grow) although if you're talking to them individually they prefer to be called "mum-chan". |

| Not really a flower, but just as sakura are well known spring flowers, when I think of fall in Japan I think of momiji (Japanese maple trees) leaves. |

Cherry trees of this kind grow very well, they are easy to take care. As for plants that grow in Japan, I like pine trees. My favourite season is Autumn so I also like a variety of Autumn flowers whose names I only know in Portuguese, but that go from exotic to common. |
