Hello mates!

I am directly in love with the series that are happening during the war or after the war. Rainbow or Sakamichi no Apollon were brilliant. I like series without all this technology and modernity stuff. In these two series which I mentioned, you can feel a certain "brutality" and "poverty" of post-war times. Do you know any similar anime? :)

I mean, I guess it depends on which war you're on about...

But I'm going to recommend both Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Violet Evergarden - partly because both are really, really good and partly because both deal with countries in the aftermath of a war, and with the people trying to move on from and deal with what they've seen and done in that war.

FMA:B has a lot more going on with it, but it's certainly all there as an unflinching look at war and genocide and what they do to the people involved - on both sides. Violet Evergarden also focuses on other things, but there is much more of an undercurrent of tragedy and focusing on the grief felt by those left behind by the ones they love.

(Although looking at your list you've already seen FMA:B... still, you might not have viewed it through precisely this lens, and it certainly counts for other people looking for similar things, so my recommendation stands.)

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade is a good war drama. I'd recommend that one. I think it has what you're looking for.

Sounds like you might be interested In This Corner of the World, if you prefer the focus of it to be during war/post war times for the people but not specifically those characters being involved in the actual war battle itself.

If your looking at the devastating effects of war the upcoming Vinland Saga does look at this with set during King Sweyn/Canute's invasion of Anglo Saxon Britain.

Chaika the Coffin Princess takes place after a war in which the "good guys" won -- a group of heroes defeated the wizard-emperor who was feared and reviled for his magical might. The story is told from the perspective of a pair of now-employed saboteurs, and features a number of other elements that are the aftermath of such a war. The setting isn't "postwar society struggles to piece itself back together", but there is some of that, and the setting has a definite darker fantasy tone to it.

Hmmm, I should clarify my question.

World War 2 or post would be great but I also like older times. It can be slice of life or historical. Romances are also welcome.

Since all the best ones have already been mentioned, I'll recommend Youjo Senki.
It's definitely very war focused and kinda set in WWI although it's in an alternate world with some magic elements.
Aldnoah.Zero is another decent one but that has mechas so yea I guess it's pretty hard to find a realistic war scenario without magic or sci fi.

I guess there is Les Misérables: Shoujo Cosette which focuses partly on the French revolution and there is definitely that poverty aspect where peasants are trying to get by.

I immediately thought of Grave of the Fireflies (Hotaru no Haka). The person above me mentioned it as well. It's a movie, but I think its exactly what you're looking for.

What you need are anime like Flag or anything created by Takahashi Ryousuke, they pretty much all deal with war in a very realistic and crude way

Haikara-san ga tooru the anime is pretty old so you can check the movies. Be careful, it's very shoujo but it has its great moments. The action is set after the first world war and the japanese are fighting the russians.

I'd put Reign the Conqueror as one of the best military and philosophical anime, if the design does not deter you

Some more series with war/post-war elements:

Planetarian is about a ruined city where a junk-scavenger runs across a planetarium-operating android. The world has been ravaged by war in this setting.

Coppelion is about characters immune to radiation who are tasked to save people in ruined Tokyo. Not a post-war, just post-accident, but the setting has a lot of similar flavor to it.

Arpeggio of Blue Steel has a setting where the world's oceans are now controlled by a mysterious group of entities known as the Fleet of Fog, made up of superpowered versions of World War II naval vessels, which has cut off transoceanic contact (via shipping lanes and undersea cables) between the various continents.

Eureka Seven does involve something of a conflict and there are locations, particularly some late in the series, that clearly show postwar devastation, if I recall correctly.

First, you're not going to find many seasonal animes that deal with World War II or its aftermath. Japan has yet to come to grips with its role in that War, as the excellent episode 20 of GeGeGe no Kitarou (2018) shows so well. I recommend that episode highly.

Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryouko takes place in some post-apocalyptic future after a cataclysmic war.

Joker Game takes place in the 1930's. Somehow the Japanese spies seem as intent on upsetting the plans of their Nazi allies as pursuing Japan's goals.

Episode six of Senkou no Night Raid concerned the "Mukden incident" in 1937. Japan's treachery in that action makes it controversial today. Those concerns led to the episode being pulled from the show's broadcast stations and shown only on the web. I watched this show because I'm curious about Japan's portrayal of its role in the War; once I saw the Japanese agents had superpowers I knew this wasn't going to be a serious examination.

Shows like Nijuu Mensou no Musume are set in the postwar Showa era. Nijuu Mensou was involved in Japanese war research and is trying to make amends for that fact. But we don't see anything about reconstruction per se. Actually the best single episode I've seen about the postwar Japanese "miracle" is episode two of Bartender.
