Why even bother to make a summary? It's not like we are getting a season 2. Yeah there are people who will rewatch the series, but it's not like they would just want to watch a summary of the show, that would ruin the whole researching experience for them.

It only makes sense to release this if they plan on making more entries in the franchise, so maybe that's what will happen? Or it's just a cheap attempt to regain peoples' attention as they begin to forget about the show... either way, I agree that it seems rather pointless.

We might get a Violence Jack adaptation, which would also be lit

They'll monetize the youtube video and make money from it.

Except the manga had a follow up called Devilman Lady and if we ever get a sequel to crybaby, it's probably an adaptation of that.

But that not only would ruin the sales of the anime, it also seems stupid to get ad revenue from movies and TV shows rather than selling them altogether

Why would you watch a squeezed up ruined version of the show rather than the original tv show itself. Plus it won't earn them anything

I cant see a second season ever happening. The show had a pretty all including ending. You cant really make a season 2 that would require knowledge of season one.

Exactly

Why would it ruin the sales of the anime. The American release Blu Ray is scheduled to release in 2019; this is a good way to earn more money and get more exposure.

Not really. The end still hints the possibility of a follow up just like the manga, but it did end well so wether they will actually produce it or not is an entirely different question.

What the hell is the point in recapping this? How would there be a sequel if the entire world has fucking ended?

Look, if you are not interested, why bother watching a recap of an Anime with only 10 episodes. If you are interested, you would watch the 10 episodes. (it's only 10 of them anyway) If you watched the whole show, it's only 10 episodes and iirc it was released all at the same time, so also not much reason to watch a recap at this moment in time.

So the only option I can see is that they plan a follow-up of some sorts. But since it ended so round up, I feel like they will have to come up with a DAMN good plan for a follow-up/sequel. But if they get the funding from Netflix... well, I guess it would be weird to deny money to make a sequel, but that won't give us much hope for it to be good. (I mean... just look at what they did with Neo Yokio)

If they make a sequel, the story will have to elevate itself quadruple
to even make sense.

I think there is no need for second series,it ended perfectly imo

Pretty sure this animated series was already produced when Netflix acquired it. It was another company's project, that was never exploited.

Sure, maybe. I don't know. But my point is, Netflix seems on a roll to spend their tons of money on niche and experimental projects, which, technically, both Devilman and Neo Yokio are. For people like me, it's a great thing, because if something is unique and original, it bumps up on my rating-scale by a lot. But for most people that is way more often a miss than a hit. (the reason why studios milk any concept that is popular: people generally like to see the same things they already like)

In any case, it's a big risk and for the reasons listed in my previous comment, I don't have high hopes.

YouTube is Google's property. This show is a Netflix property. Of course, it isn't available there, try on Netflix.

I'm talking about the 3minute summary by aniplex. Is it on netflix?

I managed to watch this but I can't find it anywhere with English subtitles. Seems to me like it's basically a trailer for the show (although there's quite a few spoilers but then most trailers seem to have big spoilers in them these days). So if you have already seen the show, it's not worth watching.

Isn't this like a thing you pop in when you and your friend are hella drunk and then he sees it and thinks it looks like the coolest fucking thing ever and then actually checks the show out?

Or maybe it's meant to like hype you up for a rewatch or something (since it's too spoilery to be a trailer).

You can find the video here (blocked in all countries, except Japan). You can bypass the block using a VPN.

*Ahem* to avoid spoilers? I think most of the community tends to avoid watching shows they know the spoilers to. Besides, they could just get more exposure via the trailer instead of a summary full of spoilers
