| literally the only seasonal series i kept up with was Anima Yell! and Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san. Anima Yell changed some things that make more sense in anime. Kohane's dream seems to be a Kobo-original - i dont remember seeing it in the manga. they had to skip a few scenes. they had to skip the part time chapter due to not enough time and they also made some changes in the last episode. basically, the series is maybe 90-95% ish faithful. the rest is either not enough air time for an anime adaptation or changes that take advantage of being an anime adaptation. overall, great adaptation from Kobo. |

Jojo (people, pls) top cutes of the season (girls only sorry lilly) god this season had some cute 8. gocchin (beelzebub) - episode 11 gocchin was SSS-tier diabetes inducing 7. momo (spyce) - please do not make into ramen 6. kohane (anima yell) - good happy cute chair girl, will cheer you on using her butt for free 5. kotecchan (anima yell) - good girl concerned about not getting fat even though she already is, was the show's choice to wear the pure girl one piece swimsuit 4. misha (uzamaid) - this could not crack the top 3 of cute, and LOOK AT IT 3. sakura (zombieland) - extreme desire to protect but also way too late to do so those girls were all cuties for sure but the top two are just on an entirely different level, we're talking yuzu-level, one tier below a picture in my profile kind of cute (you guys remember yuzu right, it wasn't that long ago, adorable fox girl, made impossible mouth shapes) 2. beelzebub (miss beelzebub) - not sure what else i can say about beelzebub in this thread 1 sophie (ms vampire) - i want this image chiseled on my tombstone |

| So that's another season in the books friends, and with it, effectively another year, inconveniently-timed OVAs and the like aside my resolution for 2018 was to watch more tv shows from the 1980s, I watched nothing MAL would classify as a TV show but I did watch a good number of OVAs, so I'll call it a half-win on the whole I'd say 2018 ranks above 2017 - my grades don't show it yet but most of the 2018 movies won't be on the internet for a while keeping its score down. 2018 may have had a couple of flops but it also had over a dozen fulll length shows I gave an 8 or higher which hadn't happened since 2012. Either way, we're still out of the nadir we were in for 2015/16. cutes of the year: 1. sophie twilight - her show may not have lived up to my expectations but she absolutely did 2. i guess other girls were cute okay 2. hannen hiroe (tracksuit slob from slow start, i love her) 3. mitsuboshi yui, protect with your life 4. kokona is always extremely good and cute as long as they aren't undressing her for no reason 5. miss beelzebub mofu mofu 6. teresa wagner (tadakoi, why does it feel like this show was so long ago) 7. li'l platelet 8. kamuri (slow start) 9. medusa (jashin) actually wait what was with this year 10. hazuki (marchen madchen) braces for impact bestgirl of the year 1. claire thomas happened, you guys know me by now 2. Pikari is always a high-level bestgirl live mom of the year 1. claire thomas's mom 2. sacchan's mom, loses points for such an average kid dead mom of the year (...what the hell japan) 1. misha's mom 2. special week's mom 3. shirase's mom, probably did some good work for science best game of twister: uma musume had one of these, for some reason AOTY 1. Yurucamp/\- Caused the first change in my anime favorites in over five years, I thought it was going to be some middling of the pack generic kiraras entry but my god I love it. | way to not hand out the award for favorite overall character of 2018 me, good job good effort while the girls of anima yell, harukana receive and laid back camp were for the most part wonderful, and there were some very good and well behaved horse girls, monsters, vampires, demons and zombies (no seriously 2018 what), the best character isn't even a girl at all! Heresy! That's right, this could only be one person, one you know all too well. A man capable of building robots that know English, but also a grandmaster of the true art of shogi. If 2018 could only be the year of one man,  the answer could not be in doubt. |
