Please learn about cel animation and its technical process. Learn how special effects and backlighting were done without computers. |

| I watch several anitubers, but the only two I'd consider myself a fan of are Gigguk and Uniquenameosaurus. |
| If someone were to make videos on otaku culture in general, or cover the actual production of anime in its technical and business sense, maybe I'd watch. But since anitubers know absolutely nothing about the industry, they're forced to make analysis and opinion pieces, because they're super easy to make and don't require very much prior knowledge, as those videos are purely subjective; they revolve solely around the videomakers own experience with whatever they're talking about. It's like reading MAL reviews, but the person is somehow even more of an egotistical fuck. The other side is just knuckedragger memes, and other e-celeb nonsense I have no interest in. There are some 'informative' videos out there, but these just have obnoxious people reading aloud stuff they stole from elsewhere, ie. low-effort 'research.' There are some videos of anime con panel discussions, and presentations, which might have some good content, but those don't count as 'youtubers.' Maybe what I'm talking about exists and I just haven't seen it, but anitube is pretty worthless from what I can tell, and all comes from the same wellspring as anitwitter, ANN etc. |
