| Why would they? They're there for a paycheck, that's it. Ok, SURE some of them probably do....for SOME of the them it's probably something bigger than a job. But I'd bet good money that's not the case for the majority. |

| Even if we're excluding original anime, I'm pretty sure they are given instruction on how to portray a character, their personality, what are their relationships with others and how they should act towards other characters. Some may read the source material but I doubt that many do it. It takes some time after all. |

| Only when there are more than one MC, preferable no more than two and they have a harem of their own. To put it more elaborately and into perspective, like in a Harem Anime with 2 male leads that each gets their own harem company of girls from the main cast. For example, 1st male lead gets a company of 4 girls and 2nd male lead gets 2-3 girls etc. They have to read the source material otherwise they won't understand the sh!t they are about to give their voice to. |
