LNs always features harems for the MC, and I don't understand the oversupply of such elements in LNs when we already have so much of those genres on sale in the market already.

I actually don't mind harems in LNs, but with the one condition that the Male MC needs to have a Male Best Friend that also gets his own harem too, so that we won't feel that mad at just one male character getting all the girls. Besides, for some of us that have best male friends in real life, it would result in these 2 feelings that would make us feel depressed and empty while watching it :

1. Like as if my best friend alone gets a harem of females liking him in real life, with none of them viewing me as a viable romantic interest.

2. Like as if only me alone gets a harem, but none of them views my best friend as a viable romantic interest but treats him as a nuisance. Would feel mad if my best friend too doesn't get his own benefits as me, as I value such a person based from my past experiences in high school of having such a person whom I value much.

So, there should be more LNs where 2 males of the main cast each getting their own harems, like in the examples below :

1. An example in LN : Isekai Mahou wa Okureteru. Both MC and his best friend each gets their own harems. Unfortunately the story doesn't cover much from the POV of his best friend and his harem, who goes on a separate journey with his harem to go get rid of demons. There should be more balanced POV screentime for both if this could be turned into a Dual Protagonist story covering from both the POVs of those 2 best friends' harem groups led by Suimei and Reiji. Like in LOTR, which covers decent screentime from the POVs of Frodo's party and Aragorn's party.

2. An example in Visual Novel : Venus Blood Ragnarok. In the Light side of the story, both the Protagonist, Vari, and his military strategist, Loki, each gets their own harem of females. Vari gets more than 6, including one childhood-friend character who's a sister of his rival in swordfighting, and many others. Loki, gets 3, including one pretty priestess in white robes, and all 3 of them only likes Loki and will only do it with him.

So I think there should be more LNs where 2 male leads each gets their own harems. If not, then there shouldn't be any at all, and just focus on One-on-One Romance with Multiple Couples included instead in an Action Fantasy genre, like Kenja no Mago.

For now, I stay away from all LNs that only feature one male MC that has a harem, as I just can't stomach such crap any more, as I dislike it and abhor if only one male character gets the benefits of having luck with the ladies. It's like this Japanese thread mentioned >> http://magsoku.blomaga.jp/articles/13485.html

ハーレムアニメがつまんない理由「主人公だけ得をしてるから」 The reason why harem animes are boring : Because only the Protagonist alone benefits

恋敵や三角関係とかなんのドラマ性もないアニメ

Translation : It feels disgusting to watch all the female cast directing their affection all towards one protagonist. Such Animes have no elements of drama present in love triangles and love rivals.

My Comment. Indeed. But I don't quite like it if MC's friend becomes a rival trying to win the heart of the girl that the MC likes, so if possible let the MC's friend aim for another girl that's not on MC's list, like in Just Because anime.

In other words, a story where single girls or harem of girls are prepared in advance for both of those males, like in my 2 LN and VN examples above, with zero enmity between those 2 males due to them fighting over the girls they share same affection with. Such an element is present in Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken, where MC's best friend Pop is jealous at another male character named Hyunckle, for the girl he likes named Maam is always so close to Hyunckle.

I am someone that would like to watch a Harem Anime with 2 male leads that each gets their own harem company of girls from the main cast. For example, 1st male lead gets a company of 4 girls and 2nd male lead gets 2-3 girls etc.

Too much Ching Chong.

What you meant are mainstream LN which gained popularity from trends with easy male fantasy such as harem or isekai then it becomes an easy money for them.

It was Battle school harem,Mecha school harem?, Magic school harem, now we got Isekai harem.
And majority of them originally from LN not Manga or anime original.

Just say it smh

Cause harem sells like you said, I dunno, it's just a shift in the industry. Like when GAR was a thing.

I would say it's because most of the LNs are male power fantasies and therefore harem is commonly a part of it. The reason for the power fantasies though is because they are largely internet fiction. A lot of it is just random garbage people post online, so that also explains why there are so many of them with almost the exact same storyline. It is basically their way of writing fanfiction. And do I really need to explain why fanfiction that's been specifically written by guys to pander to guys has lots of harems in it?

If anyone is interested, a large part of the stories that end up getting published are from https://syosetu.com/

Pretty sure there's plenty of LNs without harems. Like Spice and Wolf or Kino's Journey. Just get better taste, mate.
I probably regret this post by now.

Why write two male MC.
The focus of the harem novel are the stories of the girls, the MC is just a carrier for the girls. two set of harem and an extra MC looks very unnecessary.

LN mostly sell in Japan. Majority of readers are male otaku. 99% are straight and want vagina. Ding dong.

I wonder why Isekai Mahou wa Okureteru didn't get an anime adaptation yet.

Is it because the LNs are not selling well ?

LNs authors tend to one up each other, for every Gate we get 6 shitty Isekai/harem LNs, Web novels tends to be even worse.

I would like anime adaptations for these 3 titles :

1. Light Novel : Isekai Mahou wa Okureteru.

Reason : Because MC's male best friend has his own harem too like the MC's.

2. Visual Novel : Gensou no Idea

Reason : Because 2 Male Protagonists each gets their own company of 2-3 girls in their parties.

3. Visual Novel : Venus Blood Ragnarok

Reason : Because both MC and his male military strategist each gets their own harems, and all girls in both harem groups are all cuties. The 2 male leads are cool too.

So, I need either of those 3 to get an adaptation, to realize my dream of watching an Anime where 2 Male Leads each gets their own respective harems.

In normal harem shows, only one Male Character benefits, but in a Double Protagonist Fantasy Action Harem show, 2 Male Characters benefits, so it makes us feel less envious, as it gives off a sign of encouragement to us, " See, 2 guys can do it, so can you", instead of only 1 guy getting all the benefits in one show/story.

If you have any opinions to voice concerning this views of mine, please freely write them here, as I'm sure there are some MAL members here that would like to watch a 2 Male Lead Harem show too, like me.

Also, Fantasy Magic Battle School shows with no harems for any males, but with Multiple Couples instead, are also highly entertaining, like in Kenja no Mago. Yes, other than the MC Shin, August, and Tony, the other male classmates of the MC are not as interesting as those 3, but it still beats other magic school harem crap, where only one male MC is surrounded by girls in a Co-Ed school where other male students are unrealistically not as strong or capable as any of the female cast surrounding the MC.

I think I too would like to try writing my own magic school battle Light Novel with multiple couples and a gender-balanced main cast too, like in Kenja no Mago, but with a much smaller main cast of 4 guys and 6 girls ( In contrast, Kenja no Mago had 6 guys and 8 girls, if you include Elly and May in the list of girls of same age or younger than the MC ). In such a setting, I'll let all those 4 guys each get their own girls, including the MC, of course, and I will add some interesting villains for those 10 comrades of 4 boys and 6 girls to fight against.

I think this LN had such a setting >> https://myanimelist.net/manga/105018/Makikomare_Isekai_Shoukanki but the main weaknesses of this LN are that none of the male characters in it are as interesting as Shin, August and Tony from Kenja n Mago, and none of the female characters in it are as interesting as Cecily, Maria, and Alice from Kenja, and the setting and villains are not as interesting as Kenja too, so I hope that there will be other Japanese LN Authors making new series like Kenja no Mago and Makikomarete Isekai Shoukanki with multiple male characters each getting their own girls for a Fantasy Action series with Multiple Couples.

We already have like more than 50 Light Novel series of the Action Fantasy Harem genre, so there needs to be more than 10 LN series of the Action Fantasy Mutliple Couples genre to be made in the next 3-5 years, to add to the existing number of 2 LN series with such a setting ( that I know and am aware of now )
I am someone that would like to watch a Harem Anime with 2 male leads that each gets their own harem company of girls from the main cast. For example, 1st male lead gets a company of 4 girls and 2nd male lead gets 2-3 girls etc.

Just watch SukaSuka if you want something that doesn't actually have a harem. It looks like it does but it doesn't.

Depends on the genre of the LN
Spice and Wolf, Baccano, novels like those don't have harems for the MC

Isekai on the other hand... they're directed toward otaku males and mainly are wish fulfillment novels, so harems are like the fictional waifus the audience can imagine themselves actually getting.

Probably because it sells, and that's what they want. They don't really care what's the story about if they can get some money out of it.

It seems to me the reason that so many stories that heavily rely on self-insert power phantasies are sold as books, is simply because because self-insertion works the best when one is reading a book; it can be written from a first person perspective and they often are.

Other things are by necessity from a third person perspective, which obviously hampers with the self-insertion. Also note how "silent protagonists" in video games are most common in first person games.

It obviously lends itself not well for things related to action, where something like a strip serves a better purpose in illustrating the fight scenes.

It is obvious that "obscenity" is not a term capable of exact legal definition; in the practice of the courts, it means "anything that shocks the magistrate".
