Interesting ep. The big shadow swallowing Tarous siter really creepped me out. I wonder why is it that his sister's eyes are always somehow censored whenever she's shown either in memory or in a photo, but are not when when Tarou remmembers her diying. I'm sure that there's something behind it.
I'm also wondering who is that weird thing Tarou talked to, from the voice I'm guessing it's the priest.

This was probably the most confusing GH episode to me, but it was still pretty good.
I loved the evil smile at the end =P

Looking forward to the next episode.

Yeah, it was pretty confusing and throws up even more questions... Who/What is Snark? What is the Servants role? And what is the meaning of the Death God'ish talk?
Questions over questions xD

Can't wait for more...

I love trippy episodes like this in anime. But, I wish they would give us at least one answer to anything in this show. We have been fumbling in the dark for the whole series about everything and its more than halfway through. Even with that complaint, the show is so damn intriguing that I would not dare to not watch an episode right when the sub is released. As for my own speculations about things in the show, I haven't the damnest clue anymore.

I loved the 'abstract' world, and the snark/boojum sort of reminded me of the cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland. I'm still as confused as ever, hopefully after this episode a few questions will be answered, especially with Makoto's servant/maid. That smile at the end was uber creepy.

Very strange but great episode, loved it - the last scene was very nice as well. I first thought that weird being Tarou met was his counselor but I'm not sure, and he probably would've recognized Tarou also. My speculations are all over the place, too. Looking forward to more~

Oh yeah, I knew that this episode was going to rock, and it sure did. Seeing the various settings in Tarou's head was interesting, and the last few minutes after his mindfuck adventure left us on another set of questions. Noriko's evil smile especially surprised me.

Someone on Star Crossed Blog tried to answer the references and meanings to this episode's episode title, and the context that Ghost Hound applied it to. I'll post it here. It's very informative.

“The Snark was a Boojum, you see” is the last line of Carroll’s poem “The Hunting of the Snark,” which, like his more famous “Jabberwocky,” consists mainly of nonsense– or of a 19th century precursor of surrealism, if you prefer to view it that way.

We never find out in Carroll’s poem what either a Snark or a Boojum is. All we are told is that some Snarks are also Boojums– presumably, others are not– and Baker, a protagonist of the poem, was warned long ago by his uncle that if he encountered a Snark that happened to be a Boojum, he would “softly and suddenly vanish away”– and this is what presumably has just happened at the end of the poem.

In the context of Ghost Hound, one can suppose that Tarou has read the poem “The Hunting of the Snark,” and that is why this imagery appears in his dream experience. This seems a bit more reasonable than to suppose that in the world of the anime, Snarks and Boojums, which were somewhat vague sorts of creatures in their original context, concretely exist. The “vanishing away” consequence would certainly suggest that Tarou’s meeting the Snark/Boojum is not a very good omen, but that’s probably all we can read into the encounter (of course, I may think so only because I couldn’t figure out much of the dialogue).

Another awesome episode, I can always count on Ghost Hound for a nice change of pace, anyways even though I've been paying close attention to everything I still barely have an idea whats going to happen.
but yeah I liked the ending of the episode it made me anxious to watch the next episode, Hmm...though lately Genjo-subs has been lagging behind a bit, and even though I know Shinsen-Subs are good I'm still somewhat hesitant to switch since Genjo does HD releases...:P

Wow, ultra trippy episode for sure. i always had a feeling that servant person was evil for some reason. Wondering whats up with miyako's dad's sudden reaction to hearing what she said while possessed as well. Gotta love how every episode leaves you wanting for more.

Freaky episode. I dunno why but I really liked that Snark fellow. xD
I agree with the people who said the sister swallowing was creepy^^. And I can't help to believe there's more to that sake room than it seems. :/
Also I liked the Kira moment with the old lady at the end.

Did anyone else notice at the very beginning before the OP that the only words you could actually hear were "with but a single word"?

Snark is completely awesome. I hope he appears again later on.

That smirk at the end by that servant was just creepy. She's always lurking in the shadows listening to conversations at Makoto's home. Is she always spying for Makoto's grandmother?

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

That was a strange episode. The soul traveling went on longer than what I thought it would. Very interesting.

I agree totally that the boojum entity that Tarou met was not a good omen. Please don't end with him vanishing away, please, IDK I'm getting more paranoid now. Loled a little when he went into the... um whaddaya call it, cultivating room? and got all happy when the yeast are multiplying lives. He even went so far as in saying that the spirits around it are celebrating. Haha, you positive little boy, you.

Why would Makoto's grandma sent her servant and there, she wasn't doing anything? Who will be sent to 'its end' by Miyako-God? Why is Tarou getting more and more engulfed in his mind after every projections? As in seeing the 'other side' twisted version filled with people he doesn't even know.

Man this is why I love this series. such a mindfucking ep.!

That was sure some astral projection by Taro.. Looks like he broke free the second dimension and went to higher frequencies.

Also that woman screams bad news. I've got a bad feeling about her smirk at the end too

This episode doubled the amount of questions I have, what happened at the beginning. What were all those places, who was Snark and what's with that god although about this one I'm happy they brought it back because after Tarou brought her home, he never questioned what that was or anything of that sort which was the weirdest part but I guess the priest knows about it.

Also omg that endingggggg, that evil smile gave me chills, is she possessed? Throughout this series, she was always very weird.
Come on man, where is that Noragami season 3 masterpiece. We want it, Bones!

The most engaging dream sequences in this anime yet. Quite the neat episode, even though it raised more questions than answers. Makoto seems to be living with a bunch of crazy and/or evil old women.
