A lot of people have mixed opinions seeing the new trailer because of how different and modernized it looks compared to the original, I found it to be fine but my biggest problem were the character designs, it looks too Bishounen and something you can see in shows like Free and Kuruko No Basuke, but nitpicking aside, if this adaptation stays true to its source material that would certainly be great. So what do you think of it? did you find it to be insulting or are you hyped for it to come out?  |

| Nah it looks fine. I still think the uniforms look unpalatable and those shoulder plates or something needs to be canned in favor of actually relevant and distinctive military insignias that indicate rank/position. And bullshit, those weapons are fixed in place? Ever heard of turrets. Good lord. The number of those things need to be reduced in favor of focused firepower with almost 360 degree coverage. And why WVR combat at such tight formations? Do or die? I having flashbacks to one of Star Trek's stupidest aspect. I swear, it's like the entertainment industry only knows "19th century line of battle ship-to-ship combat but in space because warfare must be 2d". Problems of the reboot that boils down to "Geez, now it looks like every anime ever", while understandable, still sounds stupid. People are already trying to set their minds on what to feel before even experiencing it. Confirmation bias will rule this reboot, I swear. EDIT: Like me. See above. |

| The ships and combat scenes look glorious (as expected of Prod. I.G.). The character designs: not so much. Reinhard looks ok (the original is still better) but Kircheis (if that other squinty-eyed guy really was Kircheis) and Yang are just wrong. The characters and the story are the hearts of the show so it's imperative that the characters don't get changed too much -- their original designs were already very good. Upgrading the ship and battle visuals, while welcome, is secondary. I'll definitely watch it but with a jaundiced eye. |

| Reinhardt looks pretty ugly. I don't really think a reboot is needed, the animation isn't an important factor in LOTGH. |

| I can't really tell which part the new LOGH anime is gonna adapt. Is it just the first volume or some other part? But it looks decent enough. Yang looks good and I like his voice (more so than in the prequels I think) so that's a relief. Reinhard and Kircheis don't look as good/distinct as in the original imo and based on the trailer the voice didn't leave too much of an impression but it still seems okay and I always cared more about Yang anyway, and also more about the dialogue and character writing than the designs. I wonder how many of the people who complain about the designs now as the factor deciding watchability or not, complained about other people not wanting to watch LOGH just because the designs and visuals look/are old in the past. It's shallow no matter which version you dislike if it's solely because of some design details. I'd hope the fanbase would value other aspects of the anime more heavily compared to just the designs. I had to laugh a bit tho about how they modernized the ship designs and everything but the space pew pew still looks almost the same. I just hope the movie trilogy isn't just a different version of the 12 episode TV Series, that would be lame. |

| I'm not really excited about it, the original is so good that I don't feel much about this one. But, hey, I freaking love the characters, new stuff with them is always welcome, so will definitely watch it. |

| The PV kinda killed the hype. In moments like this it is noticeable how much the execution can change an anime. This version doesn't feel as epic.
