This is sad, probably the best band from my childhood has now lost its vocalist.

I'm so shocked and sorry. =( I loved Linkin Park back then and still like many songs very much. It was really the best band of my childhood and teenage times.

I'm very sad to hear this. LP has been my favorite band ever since I was a kid. I hope Chester is resting in peace, no one can replace him.

I didn't keep up with Linkin Park in their later years but this band made my early teenage years back in the day. I remember having Hybrid Theory forever on repeat while carrying my Sony CD player around everywhere, what nostalgia. Rest in Peace Chester.

Rest in peace.

Reanimation is an absolute classic and one of my favorite albums of all time.
That album is pretty much responsible for my taste in music.

This proves that money can't buy happiness. I'm looking on other sites where all the comments are "what a selfish prick for leaving his children behind", or someone with the question of "money can't buy happiness...?" No, it can't. Sure, it'll buy temporary satisfaction, but that hole in your heart will never go away.

Rest in peace, Chester, you're a hero.

I saw Linkin Park live in 2014, his energy on stage was incredible. I love his lyrics so much.

May he finally be at peace.

Rest in peace to a fantastic legend in music. Linkin Park got me through my teen years, their lyrics really spoke to me and still do now I have hit 24.

Sleep tight Chester, continue to inspire us all.
I'm going to play "leave out all the rest" in his memory. :'(

LP is the band that got me into metal, and I haven't gone back since. Definitely a big loss to the hard rock scene, regardless of where LP was headed at the time of his death. Very unfortunate and sad, indeed, but no one can claim to know what anyone else is going through.

Source? Isn't it depression from what I heard? I mean last month his friend passed away and he was really furious when fans criticized his last album, not to say abt his fucked up past. Nobody knows what really happened tho yeah.

Well he was always a drug addict afaik, and in 2011 he claimed to have quit drugs and said in many of his tours, that he just didn't want to be the same man from before.

RIP. Last year my favorite singer Kouji Wada died and now Chester, which means my favorite band is most likely done. Two months ago, Chester's good friend Chris Cornell comitted suicide and today is his birthday. It's probably one of the reasons Chester made this unfortunate decision.

How dare you. Wait at least a day, before you bring your black humor. XD

I love Linkin Park's textes. They are angsty af, but I love them anyway.
To my own surprise my favorite song from them was The Catalyst. x/3

I'm honestly bummed out about this. I never really admitted this to anyone, but Linkin Park was one of the bands that got me into rock music and I even thought Bennington was damn good with his singing & screams. It's honestly saddening to hear about what happened to him. RIP and thanks for the years of great music Chester. They won't be forgotten.

Woke up in the morning and the first message on my mobile was about Chester's death. A bad way to start my day.

Linkin Park was my childhood, and still one of my favorite bands. I remember listening to my first LP song, Numb. 'Somewhere I Belong', 'What I've Done and 'Breaking The Habit' would probably be my top 3 songs by them.
I can't believe I won't be able to go to see them live now or listen to any new songs.

You'll always be remembered Chester. RIP.

linkin park was my gateway to rock/metal in 4th grade, ever since i was in love with chester's voice (im 19 now), i still love LP's songs till this day.

its kind of ironic how chester killed himself right after he met $uicideboy$ (rap duo) at a music festival at sweden a few days prior.

rest in peace chester, you've left a legacy of great music behind you.
