| I try to balance out "quality" (art, story, sound) and enjoyment. My 9s and 10s are guaranteed to be good and my 1s and 2s are always bad, but 5s and 6s can be made up of so many combinations between quality and enjoyment that those scores don't really say too much about my actual thoughts on the anime. Himegoto, Penguin Musume, and Moetan were all rather shitty but I enjoyed them so I wouldn't want to give them scores below 5. Hyouka, Zero no Tsukaima, and Ouran Host Club weren't all that bad but I just didn't enjoy them so 5 seems like a suitable rating. Anne Happy, GochiUsa, and Wakaba Girl were all very average overall. This is my system, but obviously it's not objectively the best since there is ambiguity. All systems have ambiguity, though. |

| I just score based on my enjoyment. I don't think about animation, art, sound and give each of them individual values. Those things subconsciently impacts on my enjoyment, so I just think how much did I like that anime and score based on that. |

| I dont care if someone rates by enjoyment or critical. What i care about is that you use the full scale! The best way to rate is using the whole scale and not just half of it. |

People will rate differently based on their own priorities, their own biases, their own experience. Two people could enjoy an anime the same but rate it differently due to their own systems and weightings. As far as I care, so long as you use the entire scale you can rate how you want. |

| There is no such better way in scoring anime. As long as you don't let others influenced you and you gave them score honestly, then you already done the best way. I think this is what OP actually meant : "It's easier (not better) to judge them by comparing them". My answer is yes. |

| Pretty much however you like. Will your list be one where people will know which you enjoyed the most? Or be one where someone can be sure of quality, but have to keep in mind that a 6 may not necessarily mean you didn't like it? Or a mix of both? The important thing is just to be consistent with your scores. |

| Most of the time, the highest ratings of 9-10 are the series I believed were among the best in quality, characters and stories, yet I'll rate series 7-8 if I just really liked the series. It's mostly just a matter of opinion though. In the long run, just rate the series you liked the best the highest because most of this judgement is highly subjunctive and a matter of personal taste anyway. |
