| Recap movies are completely pointless, and this one will be no exception. Just do a second season or a movie that actually adapts new stuff instead rather than cramming it all into one movie and making a rushed mess of a movie. |
| It'd be nice if they included the details they left out from the LN and erase some imperfections from here and there. I'm a little happy that Overlord's getting a movie despite it being a recap. I guess it saves time since I'm having the urge to rewatch almost every anime I love including this. Seeing Albedo again is a plus, too~ |

| Well...my hopes got WAY up and then kinda fell once I read it was only a recap movie. I'm still curious about it, but surprised they'd do a recap movie rather than do a movie about the Lizardmen or something. I feel like the lizardmen part would make an interesting movie, even if Momonga isn't the main focus of it. Though, if I had to vote on what I'd LOVE to see turned into a movie...has to be Volume 9. ^^ |

I suspect this is a prelude for season 2. When Season 1 has been aired a substantial amount of time ago, it's quite likely that before they air Season 2 they would do some form of recap. For example, before Attack on Titan season 2 was announced, they did two recap movies. Before Jojo Stardust was aired, they did a bunch of recap OVA of the previous season aired years ago. I personally think that this is quite a good sign with a lot of potential developments on the horizon. |
