 The wraparound band on the 11th volume of light novel Overlord, which will go on sale tomorrow on September 30, will announce that the series will receive an anime movie to recap the TV anime.Overlord is written by Kugane Maruyama with illustrations by so-bin, and was initially serialized as a web novel in September 2010. It began publishing under the Enterbrain label in July 2012. A manga adaptation drawn by Fugin Miyama has been serialized in the Comp Ace magazine since November 2014. | First Mahouka, then NGNL, now Overlord. I guess if they won't bother with second seasons, movies will suffice. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we got an Alderamin movie a couple years from now. I wasn't super fond of the TV series but I'll go ahead and check this out anyway. Looks like @ichii_1 will be overjoyed. |

| now madhouse has been released from curse? edited: i already read this novel up to episode 9 and volume 4 is better in movie format as standalone, since author tell the story in different view. well i guess volume 4 onward will be told with different view, but only volume 4 has completely new cast. |

| Could someone explain to me why recap movies of TV shows is even a thing in Japan? Why do people go to theaters, pay money and watch something they've most likely seen already? If I wanted to watch it for the first time I'd just stream online or buy Blu Ray than watch a version with a lot of things cut from it. |

Looks like @ichii_1 will be overjoyed. That's not possible. To make a movie of a novel adaptation, you need a standalone volume. Volume 6 of NGNL is perfect for this, as not only is it stand alone, but it can be easily adapted now even without volume 4 and 5 adapted. the only volume in alderamin that can be made into a movie is volume 8 (and 1, but this one is already adapted obviously). 4 needs to go with 5, and 6 with 7, and 9 with 10. And things have changed a lot since volume 8 so it cannot be made without adapting volume 4-7. So we cannot get an alderamin movie like NGNL without having a second season first (and not the contrary). Well obviously there are other possibilities like a side story (like SAO and others DB titles got, but alderamin isn't the type of work where it could be done easily, although it's not impossible either) or like Overlord, a recap movie but... Anyway, no movie to continue the story any time soon for alderamin. We need a second cour adapting volume 4-7 first. |

| If I remember correctly, LN readers were mentioning it was kind of rushed. So now they squeeze it into a movie format? Sure, because it worked so well so many times already... Oh well, at least the series was enjoyable so it's still something to look forward to albeit with no expectations. |
