I might shed a tear or two. The only anime to really break the floodgates though was Plastic Memories. It ended up my favorite anime.

Angel Beats! isn't sad... but yes I cry while watching a lot of anime. More for cute loving moments than for sorrow though.

There's something about anime that brings out tmy tears. I turn into a blubbering baby at the slightest provocation. Heck, I cried in the "pet panther" episode of Chocotto Sister. I cried during the "redemption" scene at the end of Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai.

I'm scared to watch some of these other shows that people hold up as examples of emotional anime, because I don't know if I can handle them. (I don't care how good people say it is, I'm never going to watch Clannad)

Gintama is mostly a comedy but the SA arc has made me cry more than any work of fiction and anything that has happened in my life, a lot more. Steins;Gate is the second saddest anime I've seen, no where near as sad as Gintama though.

I usually shed tears when anime, like any other medium, evokes a raw truth about the human condition that I was never aware of or reminds me, again, of a truth that I had long forgotten. In other words, it can shape who I am, or how I view the world differently. Isn't that the point of stories? Not only to grab your curiosity, but it can also help us make sense of the world.

Few episodes of Clannad After Story made me shed tears. Other than that, I don't recall crying because of an anime.

Your not heartless just becuse you don´t cry. The only time I really completely cry my eyes out was in Clannad After Story. But after that I did not cry as often. But this dependent on the person how is watching. Some cry, some don´t

SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T WATCHED ONEPIECE 420 plus. I already knew that it would happen (because some crazy evil person ruined it for me) and so I thought that I'd be mildly sad when it happened seeing as I already knew before hand. But when I watched the actual episode of Ace dying I bawled out like it was someone I knew in real life. I was so shocked at how much I was destroyed! I cried so much my baby brother had to hug me. I was like "huh?? How am I this destroyed??" but it didn't stop me. I was broken!! I CRIED!!! Never cried like that watching anime...ever. Sure I get really moved but usually I would shed a tear or get a small ache in my heart. But this, wow, this really hit me hard. Onepiece is definitely one for the books when it decides to tug at heart strings. It was a very heavy "character death"
hahaha Naru, also how I felt when I learned how to read all my Kana. Barakamon is everything!!:'D

I've only cried twice while watching anime. During my noob days when I started watching Naruto, I cried when Sauske almost died to save Naruto when they were fighting Haku and the second time I've cried was at the end of Tokyo Ghoul A_.

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/naruto/images/b/b7/Sasuke_protects_Naruto.png/revision/latest?cb=20150124100312

Other than that I don't usually cry unless I have something to relate to.

All the time, mainly because I'm disappointed in myself for watching anime.

All kidding aside, I cry at all the famous tearjerker scenes and some odd ones where I'm just overcome with emotion for seemingly no reason. I think the hardest I've cried is at Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. I really tried not to cry since it was daytime so I was biting down on a crayon but that didn't help enough.

Honestly I cry a lot during parts that aren't even that sad, but I don't shed a tear for anything that is actually sad. Like during Nagi no Asukara, I didn't feel anything even though I was bawling during Anohana, and I cried a lot during Haikyuu???

I'll be honest, and yes, I feel like a total monster! I only have cried twice in my entire 16+ years as an anime fan.

I cried during the ending of Death Note, and I cried during a scene in Naruto when Sakura was feeling sorry for always being a liability to both Naruto and Sasuke. When she started to take a surge of courage and faith in herself, I just began welling up.

But besides those two particular moments, I don't think I ever cried at any other scenes in any other anime. But something tells me I may just not be remembering some of the other moments that got me teary-eyed.

So back to the question, "Does anime make you cry?" -- and I will add: Do you cry often, some of the time or not at all?

Don't feel bad, I've watched plenty of anime that was meant to make the viewer cry, and yet, I never cried once. I tend to laugh more to funny scenes than I cry to saddened scenes.

very rarely tbh

for example I cried during 5 centimeters per second, the ending, oh god, the fact that I wasted an hour watching it just made me cry at the end

serious answer tho: some moment did made me tear up a little like the obvious moments in clannad and so on.

Just have cried twice too, both during Clannad: After Story. No anime can reach that level for me.
I mean, Angel beats is totally empty cause no development, Anohana predictable and very catartic, and so on.

Not going to lie, I cry all the time. There is a high chance that I cried on all of my favourited manga and anime (well, a cry of laughter if it's comedy).

Do you want to know the reason I last cried? The freaking first episode of Keijo.
