| Body pillows of anime girls is something that I'd like to say that I could tolerate if friends had them but I would honestly be looking down on them to myself (and I'd guess that most would constitute as ownership of child porn under Austrlaia's strict laws even if I were to want one...). Modern waifuism as a topic is interesting as I see it in a similar way to religion in how it is a way of life an individual chooses and allows for them to be happy in a way that outsiders would claim as being delusional. Although in this regard religion is more belief in it being true by those partaking whereas waifusim is generally accepted as escapism by those partaking, which is an interesting distinction between the two and does propose questions such as whether people should live realistically (maybe to contribute to society as a functional member of the whole for example) or however they wish. As such I could see it rationally to an extent if one were to partake in waifuism / having a body pillow of an anime girl if their purpose is to be happy but I myself personally couldn't because I would need it to "seem" real. Something like robots indistinguishable from humans in terms of appearance, touch and behavior, and of course having the personality and a similar design to your waifu, would be something I could see in a more positive light than owning a body pillow. |
