I hate the lose of momentum of the story as we reach the newer chapters of a on-going series.

The wait is annoying. And with too many mangas, sometimes I have trouble keeping up with the plot. My weapon against this is letting the manga accumulate chapters. Though there's the risk of spoilers.

And If you like Alice, I strongly recommend Horimiya. It's a great romantic comedy manga.

then the mangaka died

not necessarily, the mangaka may have some issues that prevents him from continuing his/her word (like Togashi Yoshihiro of HXH)... anyways if you were just joking then please excuse my annoying reply :p

Also, when a chapter gets really good then ends (or ends on a massive cliffhanger).

The wait for the next chapter can be real awful sometimes.

I think the worst is when you're waiting for new chapters and the pacing is so slow. Looking @ you, Kimi no Todoke D:

hiatus, axed, or worst thing is stopped (can be translator drop it, mangaka died, mangaka drop it, or no raws)

You either have to wait a month for an update or you just have to wait for a new volume so you can order it online. Either way, you're going to be waiting for something.

I don't know what is worse - translators dropping manga right in the middle or getting a chapter in a year or two and have the hope that they MAYBE will continue...

When the mangaka decides to put it on hiatus for a year and you have to reread the whole thing.

When the series gets dropped.

When you read a new chapter and don't remember anything from the previous chapters.

Cliffhangers.

Forgetting half the story bc the chapters are too short.

Hiatus is the worst =x

I would be so happy if we could get a chapter of Berserk every two months.

The manga is freaking 26 years old and is far from ending, the hiatus and breaks are really something with this one.

Well, this year IT had 5 chapters (and that's a LOT ). Next one? Summer 2016! T-T

And Black Lagoon .-.

Hahahaha! That's funny. Getting upset because you had to wait only a couple months for a new chapter. As others have mentioned, wait until you find something you really enjoy only to have the scanlators drop it (and for it not to be licensed in English). Then you'll know real agony.

Reading Bleach is huge pain too. Bleach is released weekly, but the pacing is so bad that almost nothing happens in a chapter. Even 3 or 4 chapters would barely be enough for 1 episode.

The wait is an awful feeling. Along with having to reread previous volumes because of forgetting details, sometimes even the feeling I had for the series before changes because of a long lack of attention to it. Therefore my outlook on a series and moods to read are always changing.

I especially hate waiting for chapters to be released, only to see the plot be destroyed by the author...

Or, in the case of the bad stuff I'm reading, not get better/fixed.

I invite you to read any manga whose scanlations got into the dark oblivion for years, for you to realize it after started reading it.

That happens quite often when you don't read popular titles that get translated right away...
Either you have to wait 3507123678035147 months for a new chapter,or the series is just dropped in the middle.

It can be a grueling wait for sure, weekly or monthly, but that feeling once the chapter comes out is a great one. I remember feeling this way towards the end of both Claymore and Naruto.

I think the worst is when a manga is already finished, but the scanlation of it didn't start with it (I think this is true for older manga?), so you have to wait for the scanlators to bring out the chapter and hope that they don't drop it at some point, plus the chance of not having a set schedule for it. I still love the work the scanlators do at the end of the day though.

When they say the mangaka is going to rest and there is no specific date when it'll come back. The worst I could think of is when it is dropped but you think it was really good and people thinks so too but for some reason it was dropped and later on you fond out that the mangaka is actually working on a new one or maybe he/she is going to college or something. Next is during Holidays. When it says it's going to resume next year of something but you know that the holidays are the only time you could just be at home and read/watch anime and manga but no, because they are also people and they also need a break.

Selfish me.

It always breaks my heart about Nana. Because of Nana, I'd rather wait a few months than deal with one on hiatus.
