If so, what are they like?
My roommate is a lazy pothead who has a very weird sleeping schedule and hates having the lights on so I have to sit in complete and utter darkness 70% of the time. She also hates the sound of me typing so I usually have to type very gently and softly which is hard for my gigantic sausage fingers. Today she got out of bed for the first time at 6:30PM, I woke up at 11AM so I had to do my makeup in the (relative) dark. Also, I will never forgive her for stealing my Febreeze. That shit cost me $4 I'm so bitter.

Had to put my name on stuff in the fridge. Goddamit, ask if you want some of my food. Should've brought a private mini-fridge.

Two of them are outgoing sophomores. They're kinda loud when playing video games almost every night, but very nice and turn down the volume at night when asked.

Another one is a senior who is pretty much a shut in. Nice guy, but is pretty awkward to talk to.

Any reason why you don't just do what you need to do to be comfortable? Why are you letting your roommate control your comfort? Does she hold something over you, like rent payment?

lol no, we're in a college dorm.
I guess it has to do with the fact i'm actually a very accommodating person, and this girl is kinda fucking SCARY...

she's really dry and we don't communicate at all, like we can go a day speaking maybe 10 words to each other. also pretty passive aggressive.
i'm just scared of her basically and it's not killing me so i'm just bearing with it ;___;

So, this semester I have lived with 3 other guys . Its an apartment unit where we all share the same living room and kitchen, there are 2 bathrooms so two guys to a bathroom.

We all have our own rooms which is great. The walls are also pretty good with blocking out sound thankfully. But on a few occasions the dude in the room right next to mine likes to get loud and start screaming when he's drunk or has friends over, which thankfully isn't often. But when it has happened I got extremely pissed and couldn't sleep/concentrate at all during those occasions.

noooooo fight for your space well if you ever get sick of her either
a) buy her a sleep mask and wish her merry christmas then keep leaving the lights on
b) tell her you've been diagnosed with seasonal affective disorder and you need bright lights or else you'll off yourself
orrr c) just flat out tell her you're annoyed. she applied for a double room, what's with all the spoiled brat behavior

Yeah I would say having an actual room to yourself is an absolute blessing. I spent 4 years in college sharing room with other dudes and not having privacy , having their noisy habits and ticks disturbing me all day and night , it gets to a point where you don't ever want that situation again.

Yeah, one's been a friend of mine since I was around ten I guess. He can be a bit much but he's alright.
The other two are never here for the most part.

I've had terrible roommate experiences in the past so I'm glad things are going well this time.

I have 2 roommates.

One of them usually just studies and plays Smash Melee online. He's chill and doesn't bother me.
The other is part of a dance club, has a girlfriend and is out often. And when he brings her to my room, they sometimes have sex even when I'm right next to them. Talk about personal space. ._.

wow.. that's uncalled for. I'm guessing they did that when they assume you were asleep or something. They must have been extremely desperate to fuck if they couldn't manage to find any room to themselves.

I mean even if you roommate and his girlfriend were both living in dorm rooms with roomamtes in them, this is what your roomamte should have done. He should have asked you and your other roomate to just vacaate the room for a set amount of time (which of course you have every right to refuse since she doesn't live there) , but if you accept then he could have had alone time with her if you guys agreed to leave them alone for a few hours on some agreed apon night and time with at least a few days notice. So that way at least you could plan to go chill with a friend or something until they were done and she was back out of the room.

Are all 3 of you living in the same room?

.. I think the closest experience I had to that is I was on a bunk bed (top bunk) with my roommate during 2nd year and he would tried to masterbate one time, or maybe I only noticed it one time. Well anyway I could hear the sounds and the whole bedframe creaking needless to say I was disturbed as hell. I think he figured out I was awake because I never noticed him doing it again thankfully.

I think the whole concept of having multiple adults lliving in the same room (who aren't in a romantic relationship with each other) is purely a method to reduce cost of living and increase number of paying occupants. You'd probably go insane with another dude in your room for the rest of your life with all the privacy and annoying noise /wierd habbits issues that will enivitably crop up.

I had a lot of roommates in the army. Some were terrible.

The last roommmates were great. I miss them. We were in the same division so we understood each other. Sure, it was hard sometimes. With 4 people in a room they're bound to make some noise sometimes. Still, they were considerate most of the time and helped me finish my army service without much headache.

My partner.
He's too lazy to put stuff back where it belongs sometimes (ex: he'll toss his jacket on the couch instead of hanging it up), so I have to nag him about that occasionally. Other than that he's a great person to live with. I just need to nag him into being a bit more tidy and things will be perfect.

lol, they even do it while I'm awake. Probably while I was busy gaming or watching anime or something. But nooooo, regardless of how quiet they try to keep it, I know when they're doing it. :)

To be fair, they don't really have any other area for this, considering this is our own house we rented out - 6 people sharing rent actually works out to be really cheap. I'm not really bothered with anything around me, so that's good as well.
