| One staple of the Casual Discussion culture are male posters seeking to generalize the behavior of women, blame them, and generally demonstrate some sort of righteously justified need. It is a foregone conclusion that these posters are generally wrong, and motivated by negative emotions. My question is this: What can be done in response to such examples of toxic masculinity? On the one hand, people expressing such opinions are obviously angry and feel disempowered. So should the goal be to aid these people? Or are they actually the root of the problem? |

That said, I don't like the phrase "toxic masculinity" because it implies that masculinity, something that is very subjective, is the problem.
