After listening to countless anime opening and ending themes,i realized some Japanese songs use English lyrics quite extensively.

It's quite embarrassing listening to Japanese artist pronounce English words poorly, or sing a verse in English which is grammatically incorrect.

For Example, listen to the song below.

"Just look how beautiful is world" WTF!? O.o

What do you think about this?

The same thing I think about people that say words or phrases from another language for no reason or because its cool. I generally don't care because all I'm thinking about is when its going to end and when the show starts.

Don't recommend me something that is still publishing, unless its close to being finished. Don't recommend me anything that isn't licensed.

I think it works amazingly in a lot of songs and its really good. That song u have there used to be one of my favorites. Other good songs in my opinion that uses english words to an extent are:

[blood+] seasons call - hyde
[chaoshead] super special - siera kagami
[code geass] world end - flow
[eureka 7] days - flow
[eureka 7] sakura - nirgilis
[eureka 7] shounen heart - home made kazoku
[eureka 7] Taiyou no Mannaka he - bivattchee
[k-on] cagayake girls - alo toyosaki
[kurokami] trance - GRANRODEO
[kurokami] Sympathizer - Minami Kuribayashi

there were others but i forgot their names, and if u include more katakana words used frequently i can name some others.

It's fairly common for alot of Japanese bands to do this. It's an attempt to get an international fanbase so people in English speaking countries can understand it. Alot of the times however, it doesn't work out that well and they end up being famous by writing the majority of all lyrics in Japanese.

We're all getting trolled by Mayans. They probably thought "Fuck this shit, let's end the calendar and say shit's gonna go down."

Yeah, and then when a dub slightly messes up on a name hell is raised.

Such is the irony of weaboos.

I don't care if they use english, it seems the only people who would care are the ones who listen to japanese songs simply because they're japanese.

When I started watching anime, I never got the point of throwing in random words in English here or there. It didn't bother me though.

I think it's good when they use English words. The way they pronounce the words can be hard to decipher, but then the words do make a difference and make the lyrics more interesting.

For example, the song Zetsubo Billy by Maximum The Hormone is sung in mostly Japanese, but yet, it sounds more like they're singing it in English!

It's indifferent. Most lyrics just slap random English words there because it's cool to do it (and people feel nice when they get it) but other times they actually have meaning. Making songs in various languages at the same time is nice, I like it. =p

I'm usually okay if they use one or two words and mispronounce them. That's to be expected. But if you can't follow proper English grammar and sentence structure, you shouldn't be making entire songs in English, like the song "Ana" by Lia.

It's pretty funny to listen to, but I'm surprised that the recording studios have no translators smart enough to realize that they're going to look like idiots if they sell these songs. It's just... unprofessional.

I don't really like english lyrics in japanese songs even if they spell it right... mixing two languanges sounds just weird. Though its mostly just engrish wich is even worse.

*sigh* Awful, and yes, quite embarrassing to hear as well...
Worse, though, are those who flail around the f-word (Both in songs and in RL.) as though if you use the word, you're hip and cool.
Trust me, I come from a non-English speaking country, and when the "cool" radio and TV personalities use the word - which is often - it's not censored.

If they can use it well, then sure, it's good.
Take the Soul Eater OP 2 "Paper Moon" for example.

It uses some (but not many) English phrases.
Some of the English phrases used:
"Im Falling Down Into My Shadow"
"Dont scare me"
"See you in your dreams Yeah baby"

I think Tommy Heavenly6 does a pretty good job pronouncing those words, so I don't really mind them.

When me and my friends first heard that we couldn't help but laugh for days even though we were also crying manly tears at Clannad.

Meh it usually doesn't bother me when they use english lyrics in songs. As long as it sounds fine to me I'm okay. But then again, if it's engrish then it'll just sound ridiculous and hilarious to me. My favorite Japanese singers that use english have to be Rie Fu and Utada Hikaru mainly because well they can speak the damn language and not make it sound funny.

On that note, So merely has the worshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip

That song is so damn amazing. Despite the horrible grammar. Lia's voice is godly.

And it really depends. Most of the songs on Nana had wonderful English. But I've heard bad Engrish, it doesn't always ruin a song.
Some is just so bad I can't listen to it.

Hey, Hold Me Tight by Asian Kung-Fu Generation was damn amazing...some what funny at the same time...It could just be that Ajikan is my favorite band however, but, I don't think so.

So what about alot of rap songs now a days? Most of them tend to make up words and have terrible grammar.
