| Just wanted to ask everyone which anime they prefer thusfar? Honestly it's a hard decision for me, but right now I'd say Clannad is in the lead, probably just because it's new, but to be honest I think Clannad is a lot funnier than either series, but Air was probably the most touching and sad anime of the series i've seen. Still I give Clannad my vote for now, we'll have to see what happens when the series is over though huh? |

| For now I'll stick with Kanon because Clannad has only shown us it's full potential in the comedy area, which easily surpasses almost any Romance anime I have seen. We still need to see how well Clannad is with it's drama. Have you noticed how we never mention Air(TV) ^_^ |

| Kanon, because at the time I was still new to the Japanese archetypes, and thus they didn't piss me off. Though to be honest, I like Clannad's themes a lot better (Even though for the most part it has been far too similar to Kanon)... |
| Now that I finished Kanon, I feel eligible for this thread. :3 I somehow feel that Clannad didn't have as much "holes", or the missing link if you would, as Kanon. I questioned Yuuichi's lost memory several times while watching it. Then again, I watched Kanon in a marathon style so I'm thinking alone and wasn't there for the episode-by-episode hype. Everything in Clannad thus far really made me smile/laugh like a crazy dude sitting in front of a laptop alone. It has all the comedy, tear-kerking moments, and well done animation. Most of all, I'm following the story with no problem. A lot more can be said but they'll all be too obvious. I'm still in a high demand for the better of this series, so I'm voting Clannad. :) |

| I must give the nod to Air. Though it's shorter than it's successors and neglects the girls to the amount of the original Kanon, it has the heftiest and most sincere emotional blows of the three thus far and revolves around a multi-layered and completely non-linear storyline that spans centuries. I also think it has the best animation and score of the three. Though I loved Kanon for it's masterful storytelling and unique blend of character relationships, I did not cry over Key's signature emotional blows. As for Clannad, I enjoy it, but it feels like Key recycled Fuko's tragedy, as I've seen already in both Kanon and Air, and thus the emotional wallop was dulled significantly. I have my hopes for Clannad, but I'm going to dull my opinion of it simply because I hope that will help increase my enjoyment when it (hopefully) gets better and into more unique territory. |

| Kanon (2006) for me, hands down, no question. Clannad is a good show; it's extremely funny and some of the scenes are beautiful, but the drama feels very forced and even somewhat cheesy (I even found myself laughing through a few scenes I probably shouldn't have been laughing through). AIR was good (good enough for me to give it a 10), but even then, Kanon (2006) is still far above it to me. The art and music are nothing short of amazing in Kanon. The characters were all extremely good for the most part and I definitely got more attached to the characters in Kanon than AIR or Clannad. Not to mention... though Tomoya and Yuuichi are similar, Yuuichi is just way cooler in general for some reason to me. Kanon not only had amazing characters, art and music, but the scenery as well was beautiful and it managed to create an awesome feeling (maybe it's just me). The drama didn't feel forced or overdone, it felt genuine, and the series also managed to work some comedy in as well. Last but not least, though the series had its sad moments, the ending was actually a happy one. The series felt 100% complete and I personally can't find a single flaw with it (hence top 5). So yeah, Clannad is a good series, but I highly doubt it will end up being better than AIR (though I suppose it may be possible if some crazy shit goes down), and nothing KyoAni makes will probably ever top Kanon in my opinion. |

| Kanon so far, for obvious reasons. The drama and feeling, music, animation - everything was amazing and perfectly done. Kanon also has my fav character of all time - Mai! Clannad still has the potentional to be better than Kanon. I like the characters in Clannad more though. The comedy is also top notch. And the story so far is somewhat easier to understand. We shall wait and see. |

| Kanon 2006 doh. My current #1 anime. Why? 1. Bittersweet OP (gets me crying everytime I hear it) 2. Characters. Ayuuuuu~ 3. Animation and arts. Kanon > Clannad > AIR 4. Akiko's jam. xD It was so strong it defeated my ex-#1 anime, Pita Ten. xD Kanon owns more in the emotion department. Even more than Air. Kanon had me feeling down for a whole week because of how sad the story is. But oh Kanon's sooo good. (; Now we'll see how Clannad ends. Then I might be changing my mind. :3 |

| Clannad. Kanon is also great but the scenery gets boring after a while. I love snow but after 26 episodes it's just annoying. Clannad is much more colorful and therefore looks friendlier. The humor is also great. ;) And Air... well, it can't really be compared to the other two. It's also good but the other 2 are better. |

| I"m nearly halfway through Air, done Kanon, and finished episode 12 in Clannad. All three are really good but I think Kanon stands out the most (vote Kanon =]). Clannad's definitely the funniest though. |
| I'm kinda suprised that Clannad and Kanon are so close (much less that Clannad is winning!) Then again I guess most people are voting for what's fresh in their minds, but then again they are ALL great series, I'm still betting on Clannad for top dog by the end of the series though |
| Well Imo Kanon and Clannad re way better beyond Air... Actually while i rated both animes with 10 air got only 6 and i think i went easy on it... Since Clannad isnt finised yet its not so logical to vote but since its obvious that Clannad has many Kanon elements i voted for Kanon... No1 doucbts though that Clannad is imba |

| I haven't started watching Clannad yet (will wait till all the eps are subbed, hate the weekly wait for a new one), but as for Kanon and Air, I liked Kanon waaaay better. Air was indeed sad, but I felt like the first two arcs didn't fit as well as the other arcs fit in Kanon. Plus, I found it easier to feel sad for the characters in Kanon than for the characters in Air. |

| Kanon. I think KyoAni just got lazy, and its approach to Clannad is too similar to Kanon it's almost deja vu in some cases. Clannad is still the best visual novel of the 3 though (hell, Sunohara's parts alone are better than Air or Kanon imo.) |

| Clannad shouldn't even be in the running at the moment because it hasn't finished airing yet. This match should solely be on Kanon and Air, Clannad hasn't shown anything that is groundbreaking as of yet. In fact, I personally feel that Clannad is just rehashing some of the concepts done in Air and Kanon. This is not kyoani's fault for they are just doing an adaptation of the novel, the blame falls on Key for reusing the same concepts in their stories. Now if I recall correctly, it was due to the overwhelming success of Air that spawned the Kanon remake. I'm not sure whether this piece of information is correct, but Air really did contribute a lot to the success of kyoani. A big minus for Air is its 13 episode run, compared to the 2 cours of Kanon and Clannad. Air should have been told in 24 episodes, but I believe this was before kyoani was the studio that it is today. Having the story compressed to that extent could have ruined Air for the masses. The main problem with Kanon is that it wasn't the first adaptation of the series. Sure one can argue that (2002) pales in comparison to (2006), but that doesn't really matter if one has watched (2002) before. The 'virgin' factor in Clannad is probably a big contributing factor to its popularity. I think it's correct to say that many who watched (2006) has seen (2002) before, completely eliminating the 'virgin' factor regardless of how superior (2006) is compared to (2002). Now in my opinion, Air is the best thus far even with all its faults. Never has an anime gripped me with such emotions that caused many a manly tear to be shed. Of course Kanon itself is pretty good, but having already watched (2002) beforehand took away the 'virgin' factor on (2006). I can't comment on Clannad because it is still airing, but I can say that the stories do feel rehashed somewhat (especially the Fuko arc). Nonetheless, I still voted for Kanon. The fanboy in me won't let me go vote against Nayuki-sama =P Air just doesn't get that much love huh? |
| It's a tie for me between Kanon and Clannad. Kanon 06 is definitely a better show, it's just lately the Clannad VN is just winning me over. Granted, I haven't played the Kanon novel, but I'll just postpone my vote. |
| Kanon 2006 is still my favorite of favorites. When it's funny, I die laughing, and when it's sad, I break down crying. It's jerk my emotions more than any other anime. As far as Clannad has been, the characters are likeable, but they haven't really caught me. In Kanon, the laughter you share with the characters makes you feel like you have an intimate relationship with each of them. The same thing doesn't happen in the other stories. |

| for me i still think air is the best...even though my favourite char is from clannad XD just like the emo stories of air...it felt really artsy, whereas clannad and kanon are more entertaining... but so far, comparing the similar arcs between kanon and clannad, i'd say that fuko's arc < makoto's, but kotomi 's (WHEE!!!!) arc >>>>>> mai's XD |

| Clannad is beautiful and while it still hasn't finished, what I've seen so far wasn't that impressive. Kanon is also great, but still not as touching as the beautiful AIR, that made me sob. A poetic ending, along with suberb animation, incredible soundtrack and characters that I'm never going to forget. |
| Finally I have watched all three of these (well as much as clannad as possible at the moment) and it was worth every second. AIR was amazing for only being 13 episodes, and I was so amazingly happy with the ending, even if I may have gotten lost a bit here and there! lol Kanon, well that was just pure awesomeness, again I liked the ending here. I laughed in clannad a lot though, more than the others possible. AIR was really sad, clannad is more funny/happy, and well kanon was just a good combination of both. I voted for kanon, but honestly they were all just as enjoyable! OK I'm done. |
| Kanon for me. It's the perfect combination basically, there were really sad moments... really happy moments and it was 24 episodes. Because of that, I've taken a liking to this one a lot, well that and it was my first out of the 3. Clannad ought to be second, Might be still on-going but it made me laugh the most out of the three series, yet it pretty much sucks me into the storyline, although my fav char out of it still has to come. But because there's more 'humor' in it, it's a little harder to give it the feeling like kanon did, I guess. Air third, I guess the biggest let down is that it's only 13 episodes. It's a little too bad that the other girls weren't involved as much as I hoped. Or something like that and the fact that you 're-watch' the series in quite a few episodes with some minor changes. But it might be that because of that the feeling of sadness has become so amazing. I'm done XD |

| Kanon is overall the best anime series of all time for now, but Clannad isn't finished yet and the movie didn't come out in DVD in Japan yet, so Kanon wins this for me. As for Air, Air wasn't really that good at the end compare to Kanon. At least, Air has Summer Special and movie that makes me enjoy more. As for long time anime fans in the late 90's, everybody heard of the name "Kanon" is the legendary title that makes it easily a famous franchise. Air and Clannad are also famous too, but the fans from 90's, who quit watchin anime don't know about these kind of title. Air and Clannad are now being famous for this era, while Kanon is famous in both era (90's, 2000's). |

| Kanon is the best for sure!! Air was... like it was too short, though still very good. Kanon has great graphics, music and character development. Besides, Clannad still has too finish. It can end rather great or bad. I think Kanon deserves the first spot =] |
