So Charlotte , the most anticipated anime of summer 2015 has finally ended ? How well do you think the entire series and the ending did ? And why do you think so ?

Re: Complete the series first if you haven't already.

It was satisfying to say the least but the ending felt too rushed for me to fully enjoy it :/

I think they should make an ova with him stealing abilities. Maybe. It just felt really rushed. Add montage music to that whole episode. But i absolutely loved it.

If they add some post episode or epilogue or whatever it is, at least Charlotte wont be this rushed, and maybe no complain will come

The first half was really good, entertaining, funny, well paced and felt a little bit new. But the second part ruined it with bad writing, a simple plotline and terrible pacing.
The last few episodes tried desperately to be dramatic but that just did not work.

I really enjoyed this show, as I enjoyed every Key's anime/adaptations of their VNs.
Last episode was satisfying (even if it was rushed as hell).
This anime deserved 24eps, much much more than Shirobako imo (another PA Works show if somebody don't know it).

I agree with you here. This show could do a lot better if it were 24 episodes.

Btw Charlotte > Angel Beats imo.

This is where I can't agree with you. I don't think Madea can possibly write a story better than Angel Beats ! . Charlotte was pretty much enjoyable tho.

I think the end was rushed with good reason. The way I see it they didn't want the watcher to get to engrossed with him plundering all the ability users and kept the main attraction with rather why he's doing it. If they made the entire plundering thing it's own arc I think it would really undermine what the whole show was about.

enjoyable overall but the entire last episode was rushed i dont think they shouldve spent so much time doing those ability of the week episodes during the first half. it was super unnecessary and hindered the development of the plot later on. the last episode shouldve been split into two honestly. the build up to the last ability being courage was really weak but it was a strong concept. all attributed to wasting time in the first half of course.

It was somewhat satisfying but I expected much more.

The show was just too rushed. I don't know why they decided to with only 13 epsiodes...

For me, this anime had really good moments that I loved; it kept me watching this series. At the same time, this anime had many disappointing moments with plot flaws, cliches and rushed scenes.
The final episode was as good as this anime was going to get - this could've been a great anime if it were given more episodes and some of the scenes were slightly refined.

Pros:
+ Satisfying conclusion for character development
+ No cliffhanger endings like most series
+ No mystery ending with no conclusion at all
+ No BS, "Make up your own ending," endings

Cons:
- Rushed episodes (9-13)
- Makes you crave more.
- Could of easily be made the series 22 episode series, but atlas Jun Maeda is restricted.

I almost dropped the show after the first two eps or so because it seemed like your usual brainless high school bullshit anime. It had some promise, so I continued, and I'm really glad I did, because they actually tried to write for this anime and give it some soul.

However, there just wasn't enough interaction between the characters, and when there was, it usually wasn't deep enough. The story should have taken some different route. Lots of things felt really rushed, and undeveloped. The ending was anticlimatic too.

It wasn't bad, mind you. It was pretty decent, but I think the show had some chance to be legendary, and it failed to deliver, sadly.

The 13 episode format completely failed the show too. We didn't spend enough time with the characters to care about them. The death of the protagonist's brother's best friend didn't carry the weight it could have. It didn't have enough impact, and the same thing could be said about most things in the show.

No, it was terrible. I had no investment in the events happening, transitions between some scenes were poorly done and issues Yuu was happening were poorly established, text book plot convenience twice within the same scene, and I just thought "hmm" when it ended.

I never really understood any of the characters motivations or intentions.. so this series was a fail for me.. or maybe i'm just not smart enough to understand how they came about their twisted logic to achieve their goals..

I rate it at 9/10.
I don't know about others, but for me it's better of an ending if you are going to compare it with some other anime with shitty ending.

yes having an airplane save out of nowhere really makes the ending very satisfyin or having yuuu allways encounter the only abilites he needed was also very clever
and lets not forget the random mood swings of yuu that were supposed to be dramatic.truly a great ending

The thing about the ending for Charlotte is it was very EASY. It's simple to make something with emotional impact if you just have good music and have a character cry and then have a happy-every-day-life scene afterwards. If you liked it, hey i'll forgive you, but i think Jun Maeda really needs to step up his game.

Love how plebs are able to spout his name like they're familiar with his works when in reality, they've only watched or played through two of his previous novels/animes at best.

Secondly, I suspect it's because his name is so easy to pronounce - Jun Maeda.. Any fool can remember that. Now if it was Chōkyūmeino-chōsuke taroukizaemonnosyoutokiyori, y'all wouldn't be claiming familiarity, eh?

It's not so much that the ending wasn't satisfying, it's just that the rest of the show literally couldn't live up to the ending. This ending would have been perfect for the kind of story where we actually got character development that could justify it. I'm perfectly fine with the final point the show decided to leave all of the story and characters on, but it would have been a lot better if there was more leading up to it.

It was satisfying, but it could be better.

The last arc when Yuu had adventure around the world should be longer, just one episode wasn't enough.

But it was good overall.

8/10

So...um...why didn't they just have Sala come and sing her song so Yuu could regain his memories? THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW...
One dream that will probably never come true: A full anime adaptation of Kimi no Iru Machi or Suzuka anime reboot.

I started to really get into this series around ep 7 or 8 when they showed the flashback and all, and I was so excited for the last episode too.... but wtf did I just watch. I was even thinking about giving this a 9/10 but wow that ending felt so rushed. I was actually really enjoying the episode too, up until like the last five minutes. It honestly would've been so much better if Yuu just died... that happy ending felt so out of place.

Much disappoint. Still 8/10 though.

I thought Charlotte was ok. I think it did not live to the hype i heard from all my friends about it. I think i was just expecting a lot form a Jun Madea work.

For me Clannad > Angel Beast > Charlotte . Angel beats barely beats out Charlotte for me mainly because those manly tears came out from Angel beats. ONly time i felt sad in Charlotte was when the imouto died and the Hospital scene at the end of Ep13.

I wouldn't put Charlotte with my favorite Key anime. Charlotte's full character cast just isn't as strong as Clannad's or Kanon's or Little Buster's. Yes, some characters did get shortchanged here.
I like Charlotte more than Angel Beats! Charlotte doesn't leave me scratching my head like Angel Beats! did. And I see a certain ambition in Yuu's character arc that I didn't see with any character in Angel Beats!

I'd put Charlotte just above the first season of Little Busters!, which I hated. The ending was satisfying in a way. It wasn't an open-to-interpretation ending, and actually had a conclusion.
Cute, not pedo.

I liked Yuu's mental breakdown in the first half of the episode, but overall it felt unsatisfying. Would have been better if he died, that way all the powers would have died with him as well.

I was expecting for a plow twist, because is so simple and absurd to steal everyone ability and return like nothing.

I was expecting for a good ending to give to the anime an 8 or even more, but I encountered with this awful ending so;

5/10 I'm dissapointed (This is just my opinion, maybe I was expecting too much)

I can easily overlook those plotholes.

Would have been nice if Yu still did the Sala healing Nao's brother on different timeline. Probably in the OVA
