| I need help with a series where a character with a sword gets bother his/her arms/hands cut off and you (the viewer) think they are dead or at least done for and then they come back later with their sword in their mouth and kill something/someone. Really vague i know sorry but i thought it happened in Claymore but apparently not. |

It is not a particular anime they are referencing but a very common anime trope which is why it is so familiar. That shot style, camera pan, etc. comes from a lot of melodramatic action anime often as part of the final "reluctant" battle. The most iconic would probably be the open sequence to Ninja Gaiden or DBZ Vegeta Vs. Goku. You could easily find an example in practically every shonen anime made in the last 25 years. |

Oh yeah, the angles and posing for the first picture does look generic but I think the parody scene is quite specific... there are some seagulls flying between the two screenshots I took. Just watched the Ninja Gaiden OP and that's definitely not it, I haven't watched much DBZ but I'm pretty sure it's not from that kind of battle shounen. The scene I'm thinking of is almost like an old-school samurai movie shot? |

He keeps repeating the same phrase over and over again (something along the lines of "please come back"). Then he slowly turns to stone. I remember him being in a jungle of sorts, but I may be wrong. Does this sound familiar to anyone? |

It's just a wild guess though, I really don't know if that's it. |
