Kishimoto was thinking about making a yaoi type ending because he said that he was like Naruto and his friend was like Sasuke someone he deeply admired. It's when he was asked what he thought about all the yaoi fan art regarding those two and said he liked it, someone said it's on his twitter. Sadly it didn't go that way. I can only hope for more YuuxMika moments because their bond is so beautiful and pure. |

Yeah I guess, but I would have liked for it to have no pairings at all because ships continue to fight especially the ones who wanted Sakura with Naruto. If Kishi wanted too he could have done it too, but was pressured by studio pierrot. Oh well I still like SasuxNaru. I still want YuuxMika |

| YuuxShinoa is OTP. I really don't like MikaYuu in the romantic sense. If there is *anything* there, it's Mika towards Yuu. But to Yuu, Mika is his brother. Yuu already shows a bit of an attraction to Shinoa; she's able to make him blush a little bit!! |

Aside from that, it bothers me that Mika won't even listen to Yuu's feelings; he automatically assumes he's right and Yuu is wrong and forcefully carries him away. From this, his obsession with Yuu practically borders on the selfish side. I don't really like that. Hell even Yuu and Guren have more chemistry together than any of those girls that fell for Yuu. I thought Shinoa and Yuu had cute chemistry from the start and Guren is basically Yuu's dad. :O |

Even my brother and guy friends thought they were a couple and ship them as well and they are straight. We are not deluding ourselves. This is our MikaYuu ship. It's like Romeo and Juliet. It's so beautiful and poor Mika now a vampire only has Yuu left to look forward toward happiness. I want Mika to smile once more by Yuu's side like when they were little. This ship is gaining popularity fast on tumblr and facebook pages. You can like Shinoa all you want. |

| Yu x Shinoa has shown hints that it could be developed as the series progresses, but that's about it. Shinoa has a one sided crush right now, but Yu does clearly see her differently than the others. I think right now she serves as his closest friend and companion, but the affection is there underneath the bravado, ignorance, and thirst for revenge that seems to drive Yu. Mitsuba is a one sided crush as well, and it will probably never amount to more than that. Yu only sees her as a companion and teammate, a friend that he must protect. Mika is obviously more obsessed with Yu than in love with him, and Yu doesn't seem to share in those affections. Mika was his brother, the only member of his family he has left, but knowing that Mika is a vampire now changes things. Even if only a little, it does change things. Yu also did not like Mika's meddling when his friends were in danger, which is why the monster came out. Mika was in his way when he desired to save and protect his friends. The others might as well not exist for any other reason except to serve as companions, teammates, and targets. Though, there is something that I cannot explain that makes me think there might be something later for a Krul x Yu shipping. I can't put my finger on it, it's more intuition or a gut feeling. Probably won't ever happen, but I'd ship it if it did. But for my own personal vote, I went with Shinoa because she's one of the best characters in this series. |

Your analogy with romance was indeed pretty good, but in case you did not know Romance is a genre, Shounen ai is a different genre and Shoujo ai is a different genre. Feel free to check my list for any shounen/shoujo ai. There won't be, because there's none I enjoy. I actually tried around 2 or 3. Now towards your analogy regarding mechas. Mecha fits very well with the genre known as Sci-fi just how Shounen ai fits with Romance. I watched a lot of Sci-fi's, hell one is even my favorite anime of all time, but I still cannot stand Mecha + Sci fi. Now please get of your high horse and learn how different people have different tastes. Just like how people can quit an anime because their MC doesn't end up with the girl they liked, I can quit one because the MC ended up with a boy, without being homophobic. They can do whatever they want, I simply do not care to watch it. |
