For the past 2 years Ive been having trouble marathoning anime. In March I started catching up again by watching some short episode series. March I saw Kuroshitsuji Book of Circus and Durarara s2 in a weekend. So that was me starting to get back into shape. (Also watched 3~ of Death Parade that weekend too I think). That's not much. April I did more. Watched Tokyo Ghoul A and Shingeki No Behamut in one weekend. Then the next weekend I watched Zankyou no Terror and tried tackling Haikyuu as well, which is a 26 episode series if I'm not mistaken. It was really hard to get through Haikyuu even though i really liked it.
In May I got through Noragami and Devil is a part timer, No game no life, cenceroll movie, and the Tiger and Bunny 2nd movie. I kept the shorter stuff and then decided to rewatch a series I adore.
I re-marathoned Major, all 6 seasons, which was 154 episodes, in 5 days. I had to take breaks and everything because, even though it's one of my favorite series, I just found it hard to concentrate. Oh, and also immediately after watched the 3 ovas that the show has that are each 30mins long. So, it was, according to the grapher, 186 episodes within the last 3 weeks, which isn't all that much, but more than I've done in a LONG time.
In the past, I was able to marathon a lot more easily. Watched all of One Piece originally in 4-5 days (back when there were 300 episodes). I can't even get through a 24 episode series easily anymore. Actually...
I watched a tv show (I don't normally marathon tv shows, only 3 in my entire lifetime not including anime/cartoons). Smallville I watched the first 8 seasons in a week, and then 2 seasons in a 2 day weekend. That's A LOT of episodes lmao. I marathoned the first 8 seasons of Smallville and the entire Supernatural franchise with my sister though, which helped keep me on track and engaged. I don't think I could do that entirely on my own anymore.
I feel so saddened by this truth :'(

Cowboy Bebop took me 13 months to watch while being 26 episodes long. I've rewatched major every single year for 5 years now, and it took my 5 days. Goes to show how interest and enjoyment affect time commitment lmao. |
