| Agreed. I thought I was the only one, so yeah. It's like they traded colors for animation (Why not just use some filters for coloring, then) It doesn't take that much effort to color something brightly. Guess they just don't feel like it. Or maybe it's a way of showing that Fairy Tail is 'maturing' as an anime? |

| ^ That color page has a spoiler. I don't think it's close to colored pages from Mashima, it's more pale. |

That's just saturation issue of the scans. Earlier scans had even more crazy issues like that. The actual physical covers look exactly like color scheme in anime. |

| the colors have been like this since fillers, so I'm not sure where you're going with this. Also, FYI, actual manga covers are quite colorful in vibrancy and saturation. |

| Yup, just got back to FT after not watching fillers and I noticed it right away, it's especially noticeable with characters' hair colours. |

| A lot of changes in animation(removal of dreadful magic circles, new animation team,etc) had to do with Hiro's disapproval. Its how it should look.It is not "colorful" world and most of cover art is in that color scheme so that is how the mangaka intended it to look. |

| Just started watching Fairy Tail 2014, and the art + color went downhill. The lines have definitely gotten thinner, and the colors are more dull. Each scene looks like BS. |

| YEs the changes happened over the course of 2014 version because mangaka was dissatisfied with bullshit in previous version(lolmagiccircles and shitty designs). The color scheme is emulating the manga and more saturated tone would NOT fit the setting nor the feeling of the story from here on. If someone is bitching that it is not "saturated enough" it is because most of scanlators actually increase saturation and contrast of color pages hen compared to the source material. As a comparison: This is the official colors from a color pages few chapters ago done by Mashima. You will notice that Anime has very similar color scheme now: |

| Magnolia's right, and the illustrations used as examples are good and really well detailed. Regardless of the circumstances of the story, dark or not, it does not justify THAT change of colors. |

| I think the new color scheme is actually better than the old brighter one. I also prefer thin over thick lines. Hopefully they keep up this quality. |

| Yeah the colours look horrible now, and FT isn't a good enough series to mess with settings on my TV or media player, even if it only takes 3 seconds to do. FT isn't even worth that much. |
