Ginti... that dude... Harada and Mayu didn't deserve to go to the void, unfair, but again, that is life...

No, Ginti just sucks, lol

I loved the animation with Chiyuki and her ice skating skills. Flawless, except her final move. I wonder if that was the move where she bruised her leg irl.

The preview for next video though, I wonder if there's going to be a fight.

Lotta focus on Chiyuki this episode ... so she was a skater and she was really good until she got injured. To be honest I kind of suspected it was suicide. Kinda sucks. Really nice music this episode though, with her skating on the rink and remembering her past ...
Ginti talks with Mayu and how she gets to choose between Harada and ... does that look like Light from Death Note?! O_O Well anyway, they both get sent down into the void ... and then turn into mannequins D: Man, harsh >_<
Seems like Decim drugged Chiyuki at the end with that drink. Then Oculus is talking with Nona and he totally knows ... oh dear. Did Decim request her memories as well? Plus there was that scene at the end that's from the OP I think ... hopefully next week will be a good last episode!

I think the point of showing them fusing was to point out that the void isn't bad. In fact, after this life of mine ends, I think I'd best be sent to the void.

Great episode! Ice skating scene was beautiful, well detailed and the music was fitting, got some feels. Was nice to finally get Chiyuki's backstory.

In my opinion Ginti actually did a nice thing, as all Mayu wanted was to be with Harada. Seemed to me that he actually cared/seemed a bit saddened. Either way, their souls ended up together which was nice.

Looking forward to the finale!!

What I'll remember of this episode is the Light Yagami cameo (Death Note) + the other reference to him with "more people dying recently". The dance performance...it might just be me but I didn't find it very well animated, lacked elegance and grace. I did really enjoy how it was used to make her remember her past though.

So, Ginti sends them to the void huh?

1) Harada was a womanizer (as seen in a previous episode)
2) He gave Mayu the choice to choose between saving Harada and sacrificing another unknown man for him, or to let Harada be sent into the void. She did choose to sacrifice the unknown man, even though she did not know him. I don't think they deserved to be sent into the void, but keep in mind, arbiters have never lived. They also don't have empathy like we do.

Doesn't mean I like Ginti though.

Who knew Chiyuki (such a cute name!) commited suicide? I was really sad.

Damn, that was a great but depressing episode.

I kind of get why Ginti sent Mayu and Harada into the void. In the episode they were introduced—maybe episode 6—Harada almost kicked Mayu into some spikes to save himself. And in this episode, Mayu blindly chose Harada over Light without even trying to learn anything about him. They were both really selfish, and Mayu was particularly shallow. I don't think they deserved the void (damn that looked horrible), but the decision makes sense in this f'ed up world.

5/5

I think many people are missing this .Mayu was by no means a good human being. She was as shallow as the pop idol she devoted herself to.

Put it this way,if she had a boyfriend and one day Harada just came along and told her to dump him and become Harada's girlfriend instead, how would Mayu have reacted?Pretty sure she would have have dumped the guy.A shallow human being indeed.

Reasonable enough, but not enough reason to get the void though, this act ginti did was either a way of showing us how the principle of BLACK/WHITE he follows is WRONG in some cases (in this case mayu getting the void) or this

2nd to the last episode... damn who knew Chiyuki did that? Wow the feels...

I guess the next episode will be the conclusion to Chiyuki arc. I mean if I look it right, Decim wanted to makes sure of something that what Chiyuki said is somewhat wrong.

Yeah, she felt hollowed after the accident because she is now useless as an ice skater then the people around her will (if I understand correctly) left her there since what happened. But it does not mean that it ends there.

All those memories of her life are there not because she was a skater but because of her. What she was. Chiyuki herself. She made it colorful and vibrant.

Remember what her mother said? Her mother is joyed to see her grow into a fine person. Not because she was a the ice skating champ that she was but she was herself. The family, friends, those who related to her were there because was connected to her, the bonds they made that are not base of what she has but what she was....

I dare to say this but she missed the point of what her mother said. Her own mother. I hope to see some light upon this one unto the next last episode.

It is an honour watching with you all with this one of a kind anime :)

On a side note.... THEY SHOULD SEND KIRA TO THE VOID!!!!!!!!!!

During one of Chi's memories, I saw her locking arms with a guy. Boyfriend, maybe? Or it could just be her dad. It's a bit touching how Mayu and Harada's soul linked together in the end; it's sort of a cold, fuzzy feeling for me. Great episode, the animation during Chi's memory play was amazing.

You are absolutely right. I am not quite sure we did not actually hear her say 'I choose Harada over this stranger'. There is a cut in this scene. First we get this 'push the button if you have decided' > Cut > Mayu takes Harada's body to the elevator. What happened in between? I am not sure.

I also doubt we'll see much of Ginti in the last episode. It will most likely focuss on Decim/Chi-chan and Oculus/Nona.

So...Oculus is creepy as hell. But man that episode hit me right in the feels. I was mesmerized by the skating scene: Chiyuki skating, memories and beautiful music playing in the background with no dialogue. Poor girl, she shouldn't have killed herself. I'm starting to really ship Decim and Chiyuki, too bad he drugged her at the end :/ I think he'll somehow save her in the last episode.

I was so confused at the ending with Mayu and Ginti. Then I realized that it made sense. Mayu put a random guy (who might have been Light but could have been a saint for all we know) for Harada, a guy she barely knew and he ended up being a player and kind of a douche anyways. She DOOMED a soul for a celebrity crush! She even said that without Harada, she has no meaning and so basically it would be a waste to reincarnate her :/ At least their souls are together in the end xD

REALLY hoping there's a season 2. I'm loving this anime. (PS. after reading the comments, apparently the guy Mayu sent into the void could have actually been Light xD Harada and Light have the same voice actor)

Made an account simply to counter-argue this "point" about Ginti: He's a freaking dick. Stop defending him.

Now, on the surface, everyone defending him is right when they say that he made the right choice. Mayu obviously lived a very one-dimensional life, and it seems better if she could stay with him forever in the void. However, the ONE main issue is how we reach that conclusion. It's because, instead of Ginti being upfront about this, he literally uses Harada, her biggest weakness and strength, against her. I mean, episode 9 wasn't that long ago, right? Picking at a person's weaknesses isn't judging them. It's bullying them. It's condemning them. If she went to the void after being given a clear choice, that'd be that. However, Ginti refused to be clear about the situation she was in, and when she asked, he refused to talk. Just because she's back-talked him before doesn't mean it ever *accomplished* anything, so saying "she should have pressed harder for answers" means very little.

Now, do I hate Ginti entirely? No, because he's a very solid "too cool for u" character. However, I can feel my jimmies being rustled by the decision, regardless. Then again, that's what this show does, so even if we hate it, it's probably the strongest ending we could have had.

The ice-skating theme was really beautiful, and the soundtrack was perfect.

Ginti sending both Mayu and Harada to the void left me with a bitter taste though... While perhaps she should have pressed for more details about our Light-doppleganger, she definitely deserved a second chance.

Can't wait for the final episode now, although I'll be sad when it's all over.

Yeah the right choice was made because she basically said that she couldn't live without Harada. My point is that she did ask who the other guy was.

She asked him but didn't push for it. How are you making a decision this large but not pushing Ginti for answers? Mayu challenges him all the time she was on screen and yet now when faced with task of putting a soul in void, she lets him dictate the conversation?

Bullshit.

Ginti even said "when you make the decision, push the button" and so he was willing to wait. He made it clear to her that this was a big decision she going to make and so why the rush? Why not sit down and ask Ginti everything about the guy sitting down there? So no, she didn't really ask Ginti for who the guy was.

As I said before, she blindly chose Harada and deserved void.

The best part of this episode was the part that Light was actually sitting there. LOL.

In my opinion this episode felt like it was episode 6 instead of episode 11. These series are just too short to tell everything. I think they could've explained/told the story differently. At this point I'm quite dissapointed actually.
The series is not bad. I think it's a nice series. However I just think they could've done it way better. The whole Harada-kun part with Ginti was just.. useless? It félt like useless. There was no character development. Just a fangirl choosing some boyband figure even when she has to decide who lives and who dies.
The fact that they are thinking about human emotions this late is just.. dissapointing I guess. I think the series could've been more excited.

Anyway I'm going to watch episode 12 before concluding a little bit too much. At this point I'm just dissapointed with how things are going.

LOL, although I agree with you there, I think it was actually the one thing that he could've done for Mayu, like as a favor wise. Like we all agree that she would've been one of the "reincarnated" ones, but all she wanted was to see Harada one last time, so I don't think that it was because he hated her or anything.

Chiyuki's past came off as a real surprise, guess you can't judge 'em by their covers. It's ironic how she lived a mostly fulfilled life only to have it all turn her into an emotional husk by the end of it. It was really powerful to watch all of her memories slowly flash back into her as she skated.

Never thought I'd feel for that fan girl but wow, Ginti is such a sore loser. He was unable to ever figure Mayu out and decided to cast her into the void with Harada to whisk away his problem. That was so bittersweet, at least they wander it together now so maybe they won't have to experience the suffering that comes with it.

That ice skating scene was fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen ice skating animated so that was really cool to watch.

I'm with all the Ginti haters. Then again, I was on the Ginti is a fucking piece of shit train back since he first debuted. Never once liked him. And to top it off he fucking tricked them. Waited until the doors closed to change the sign because he doesn't have the balls to do it face to face.

Did you even watch the episode? Or were you just born blind deaf and dumb?

Harada was a player. He never had a set real girlfriend. That girl killing herself was her own fault. Clearly if she's killing herself over a "break up" she wasn't sane to begin with. You also must not have watched the episode where they played the game, because he more than redeemed himself and came to terms with his sins (half of the goddamn reason for the games).

And in this episode, the entire scene with Ginti telling Mayu to choose was her being conflicted. Like, did you even watch the episode? "she didn't have the audacity to ask..." YES SHE FUCKING DID! What were you watching? She literally says "what kind of person was he" and Ginti responds with "do you need to know?". He entraps her into making a negative decision with no matter what choice she makes.

And who cares if her life was meaningless? It's her life. If she wants to dedicate it to something stupid then she's entitled to. It doesn't make her a bad person who needs to be sent to the void. And by that logic, the old lady from the previous episode was reincarnated, and she practically only lived for her drawings. So you're saying that if she didn't make any drawings in her next life, then her life is meaningless? And on the flip side, Detective Tatsumi lived what he perceived to be a fulfilling life by murdering people...so he should get reincarnated right?

Please stop lip-locking Ginti's foreskin now.
