Her main and only purpose is to be an anchor to Shinchi, reminding him of his humanity and what he was like. She herself has minimal characterization, and little to no screen time outside of that. Is she one dimensional? yes for the most part, but it's not particularly a flaw (at least in the manga, I don't know if the anime gave her unnecessary screen time) as she serves her purpose. |

| Uragami first appeared in episode 1 who brutally killed a woman and laughed about it. So he's now back as a new villain. RIP Tamura Reiko. She is one of the most developed character in this show, but she meets her end sadly. She could flee or run away, but she chose not to fight the police. I like how it's shown that Shinichi sees her as his deceased mother. Feels are coming to town. More screentime to Murano. Shinichi was very emotional (his tears huhu) when he turned to look at her. She was delighted when she saw him. I'm glad their relationship will be turn back to normal again! Police started investigating Shinichi. Uragami is funny, despite of being a serial killer. He's like Kana (I miss her so much) who can detect parasites. I remembered the moment when he murdered a female in episode 1. That was an intense stare in the end. Shinichi is in trouble again. Cliffhanger though. 6 episodes remaining - time really flies so fast. I don't want this series to end soon. By the way, did you guys notice that there's a change of animation at the end of the ending credit? Now it's a new-look Shinichi opening the door. |

Well, that's just too bad. Murano gets a tad bit too much screen time for what her role is supposed to be. But really, aside from her character and slight pacing issues, I dislike nothing else about the series, so I meant it when I said it's really well-written. I see no plot holes, and the rules by which the parasites act are solidly and strictly obeyed. There are still a few loose ends (such as humans capable of detecting parasites, and apparently a case of multiple parasites in a single body) but they were foreshadowed early enough. This Uragami guy was actually shown to have this detection ability as early as episode 1, and the possibility of multiple parasites on a host was revealed in episode 2. So yeah, I think they know what they're doing and I am inclined to have faith in them, which is why I thought they might be able to save Murano's character. |

| Best episode in a fucking long time. Wow, what a great development for Tamura Reiko, the only good character along with Shinichi. She died like a human, with human feelings, human softness and kindness, while protecting the baby. As Migi said, she could've fought back and even flee, but she wanted to confirm her human feelings. The 2nd part felt like Death Note. |

| RIP Tamura Reiko. A real human being and a real hero. I wonder what that Uragami guy has to say about Shinichi. The detective mentioned to Uragami detect your kind and their kind. Not sure what to make of it. I wonder what his powers are... He cant be a parayste... If Murano didn't have such a sweet voice I would've become very annoyed with her repetitive question. Like this Is it just me or have the last couple episodes ended in some kinda staring contest or standoff? Please don't do it next week! :P |

| I don't believe it. I actually felt sad for Tamura's death. I think it's because she died not as a Parasyte, but in a form of a human being. The problem now is the guy with three Parasytes in one body. I can see that he's the final boss to be taken down. That cliffhanger man. I mean, wtf! It's been so getting to the good part! Damn it! That prisoner dude gives me the creeps. I kinda feel scared for Shinichi. I feel something out of the ordinary coming from the two looking at each other. |

| No idea how the heck should I even feel about this episode, besides the fact that it was superb of course. - On one side, I was REALLY hoping that Ryouko would've fled as I could see her being a great ally to Shinichi and that's something he could've really considering how things are developing. Kana, Ryoko, those are the ones whom he could've share his burden with which is hardly the case for Murano(just to be clear,I don't hate her or anything but it's just how things are). - On the other, her death was so exceptionally well done, emotional, impactful & meaningful that I wouldn't have it any other way. |

| I couldn't cry. And that's why I liked the scene so much. Tamura was at the same time human but not human. She was human because she finally had emotions and died for her offspring. But she wasn't human because she didn't yell out any cries of agony, fear or distress when it came to her own safety or that of her child. She didn't cry that the world wasn't fair and that she was being bullied (as she put it with regards to her species). Her death scene was human and at the same time it was alien. It was cathartic. |

| What an amazing episode! Is too bad that Tamura died ;_; but at least it seems like Shinichi's heart is recovering. The void left by his mother's death is filling. And the fact that Murao saw that scene in the park makes her believe in him again ^^ I think Things are getting exciting again :D Can't wait to see what that guy is gonna say about Shinichi's true nature. |

"Izumi-kun are you back" isn't probably the appropriate question to ask in that situation. You do know that it was for the viewer to be able to understand how Shinichi have closed his hearth ever since he lost his mother, and him being back is meant as him gaining his "human emotion" again, which now should be clear that he didn't loose because of the parasyte in his body, but because he wanted to block out the pain of lost. This is also the main issue Murano had with Shinichi, since him closing himself of meant he didn't really show any affection towards her, with the exception of her being in danger, which then confused Murano even more because of her not being able to understand what the fuck Shinichi want. Murano is in the end a supporting character for helping the viewer to understand Shinichi developing, together with acting as the human connection Shinichi need. Iwaaki did abuse this fact in that scene and made her act a bit irrational for the event unfolding, but it is hard to do it any other time, and using time on her acting rational would take us out of the moment. I was hoping Madhouse would be able to do something about Iwaaki transition phase between the two arcs, but the pacing was as bad here as it was in the manga unfortunately, and I expect it being the same case for the next episode as well :-/ |

| - unloads literally hundred of bullets into standing target for over a minute straight -No wait stop we may hit the kid after the 143rd shot -stops firing -random girl walks right past a bunch of police officers then ignores body to ask out of place question Fucking what is this sloppiness, whats makes this so what the fuck worthy to me is how on point every other part of this episode was except those bits, that death scene was beautiful but the scene before it leading to her death was retarded and murano asking such a out of place and awkward question of "are you back" afterwords just undermine everything At least the 2nd half of the episode is interesting, parasyte's 2nd half is definitely very weak compared to the original thus far but even if the post ep 12 episodes have been either mediocre or just good not great it does seem to at least be getting interesting again. |

| Blaaah. I really wish they ended the episode when Tamura died because the 2nd half totally didn't fit the tone at all! I have to admit though, the well placed flashbacks(Though this could have been done better I guess), the ending theme that played(Which was changed this episode to Shinichi coming home, nice touch) and the snowy, peaceful atmosphere really made Tamura's death impactful and cathartic. She was my favorite character in the series for good reason and they did her justice. The catharsis with Shinichi as well, his tears finally flowing, gaaah! And then there's Murano who spoiled it all for me. Know what? Let's just cut her out of the episode and have her realize he's back in the next episode he actually comes back. I get that it was to show her that he could cry but you can see more emotion in his face otherwise too. I didn't like the whole, "Nah, it couldn't be Shinichi" then she feels a hand on her shoulder and it's Shinichi's mom, cheesy and cliche. Blaaah! Nothing too terrible I guess. I also didn't like how she sees a dead parasite on the ground and seems totally okay with it because Shinichi is there. I really liked the talk Tamura had with Shinichi and Migi though and Migi's increasing intrigue. Parasites don't need to eat humans so why do they? Parasites are much closer to humans than was expected and Tamura's empathy and gratitude which seemed so alien to Migi was great as well. 1 last thing about the scene. I didn't like how the police were shooting at Tamura despite her holding a human baby. I guess they thought that maybe it was a parasite baby or something but they didn't explain it enough. I had this problem in the manga too. Regardless, the scene still held impact and paralleled Shinichi's mother protecting Shinichi from the hot oil. True humanity, true catharsis and a great end to a fantastic character. The 2nd half was by no means bad but didn't fit the tone at all. We are finally introduced to the psycho murderer from way back in episode 1 and he appears to have the same abilities as Kana! His design is way better than in the manga too. Things are gonna heat up now. |

JizzyHitler said: - unloads literally hundred of bullets into standing target for over a minute straight -No wait stop we may hit the kid after the 143rd shot -stops firing They were worried about accidentally hitting Shinichi, not the baby. They must have realized that all of them might die if they don't shoot her right away so the baby was a necessary sacrifice. (Or only Hirama realized this and the rest were just following his orders, since he said he was taking full responsibility.) They still tried their best to avoid directly hitting the baby, of course. When she approached Shinichi, she already was heavily wounded so it was okay to stop shooting to avoid further risking the baby and the teenager. Moreover, Hirama felt something was off and he wanted to see what Reiko was about to do. |

| I don't know why the director always leaves the episode with a cliffhanger, because it's not working. Yeah it keeps the audience wanting to watch next week's episode, but this episode (or the last) should have ended with Shinichi regaining his human self. It completely ruins the atmosphere when we're thrown right into another serious and highly tense event- even though people do want to see what happens next. They were even playing the ED when Shinichi got his emotion back. This irks me because abrupt changes in mood or atmosphere when they shouldn't happen make for a not-so-professional episode. |

| Will not lie, I got teary-eyed when they were shooting Reiko's body full of lead whilst protecting that baby (but seriously though, that baby wasn't really that cute... he was actually kinda ugly...). She is seriously the only character besides Shiniichi in this show that has a back-story. Everyone else are all pretty much either parasite food or cannon-fodder. I was going to start praising the cops in this episode for growing some hippo-campuses.... and then they brought out Urasawa, a convict with psychic abilities (?)..... why the heck do the cops trust him to detect parasites so much? Are the cops in Japan really this unbelievably superstitious? Will they ever explain it for once before I dub them all idiots? The whole ending was as unbelievable as almost everything I've seen in this show. |
