| I found this scenario to be very interesting. The Bakemon gathering at a church and attempting to feast upon Sora and Joe was about the closest a kids show could come to representing a Satanic ritual. Even Joe's ritualistic chant reminds of one. This was a very non-controversial way of displaying something highly controversial and I give them props for that. |

| I... liked Sora this episode. I dunno if it's because the writing is better or that her playing off a more annoying Jyou makes her likable. The way she willing went with Gomamon's idea and kept it up until near the end and how she actually calls Jyou out on believing STILL there's humans around... (seriously dude, why is he so obsessed with the idea?) I liked. I hope Jyou mans up soon, he's too much of a wimp, lol. Also, I liked how they're always hungry. It lends credence to the danger and "trapped in an isekai" feel; these kids ARE on an adventure involving their lives. And how many versions of bananas are there in the DW? But again the BR is sloppy! The scene where the digimon come outside and the frame shakes... (right-click & view image on each the white background makes it hard to see) The BR makes it way too obvious all they're doing is shaking the cel itself. In the DVD the white is very, slightly noticeable, but the BR that motherf-er gets almost an inch of white in motion! Such sloppy remastering is unacceptable for a BR box-set that costs almost $300. If I had bought the boxset I'd be pretty disappointed; literally all they did was retouch and make everything more obvious. Looks pretty, sure, but the mere fact they made the product worse because of it isn't worth the asking price. Mod Edit: Added spoiler tags; please hide plot details. |
