There's a shitty episode of family guy where peter tries to marry chris. There's bad jokes involving peter staring at a young boys as and Chris giving his grandpa a hand job... yet it's anime that's just completely messed up? American cartoons are different? bull... complete bull. and I'm not denying the sick twisted things I've seen in anime. I'm just saying Americans who watch things like toddlers in tiaras or most adult cartoons have no right to talk... and you know I rarely stick up for the gays... but people in America say "sakura cardcaptor has gays... that's innapropriate for children" Okay, I'm not disagreeing, if that's your view, but look at some of the shit that's in SpongeBob. | In the whole scope of things, yes anime is more twisted than american stuff. I'm assuming that we are talking about actual anime vs american television. Anime as a whole is extremely diversified and unique. There are anime out there about boobs, incest, lolicon, rape and other subjects that seem to pop up frequently in many people's minds which feeds to their bias about anime. However what has not been done is the widespread awareness to many people of amazing shows such as attack on tiatan, death note, Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin, etc.. which in my opinion far surpass anything holloywood puts out. They are complex mature shows that are extremely fun to watch and understand. |

| Anime is twisted. Well some of it are. As for other American cartoons, I'm not really exposed to many of them, instead I grew up watching Chinese cartoons (yes the legit ones, not some joke to refer to anime in attempt to piss of anime fans). I'm pretty sure some were redubbed from japanese anime, but that's not the point. As for anime being more twisted than anything else, no it is not. People that watch certain thing tend to get desensitised after some time, so people who perceives American cartoons are normal are those that have watched a lot of it. For example, as an anime watcher I think moe is normal and totally fine. |
