| So I've been seeing this thing on youtube where people call themselves anime characters and role play it out in the comments for a while now. Some examples just in case you haven't seen it: How do you guys feel about this? Honestly I'm surprised that people will actually play along instead of ridiculing them like the weebs they are. Is this supposed to be a fun thing or am I right to hate it? |

| Some of them are funny, but I find it odd most of the time. Well I guess I see it this way since it is something I wouldn't normally do. However, ridiculing them for it seems a little bit mean to me. As long as it makes them happy and is not hurting anyone, then this kind of behavior is fine with me. Though I'm fully aware that this is not something healthy and it's a way to escape reality. |

| I don't get how roleplaying = weeaboo? As a retired roleplayer, I can say for certain that its not as unusual as some of you guys are making it out to be. Roleplaying goes so much further than anime and branches out into almost every entertainment medium. Really, roleplaying isn't much different than writing a story.. but now you have 1+ people helping you make that story. I feel people are using the term weeaboo much more often then it actually should be used and are just using the word because they see others do the same. |

This isn't the first time I've seen roleplayers called weaboos, no-lives, cringe worthy. The funny thing is, roleplaying takes up less time than watching an actual anime episode depending how often you contribute to the actual roleplay. |
