I don't think so. It wasn't a single volume (One Piece still sells at least 1 million more than AoT when it comes to individual volumes) but the overall sales for the series in the first half of 2014. the AoT manga sold more than One Piece, but One Piece still has the biggest sales for individual volumes.
I probably regret this post by now.

It's the highest selling manga of all time and pretty high in the ratings. The movies break Japanese box office records when they're released. Basically the whole franchise is huge.

I heard from someone who went to Japan about the advertisements on the street for One Piece. Apparently it's very very big there. Probably between or the bottom of the top top two choices.

I thought Breaking Bad was all the rage in murica. On topic, One Piece is selling really good so I would assume its big.

Breaking bad is pretty big here, but I wouldn't consider it at the top as there are plenty of shows that top it.

Breaking Bad was big, but the thing is popularity dies down once it's ended, so you hardly hear much lively discussion about it anymore.

It has historical significance on anime culture just like Gundam,Sailor moon, and is influential. One Piece doesn't have that.

American Idol is still a thing?

Um... The Walking Dead is still airing--which could be a reason, but Breaking Bad's 4th and 5th season broke records for viewership and intake.

American Idol isn't really popular for shit anymore... The original judges quit and what-not.
It's natural for a person to deny he's a failure as a human being. That's why he searches for somebody who is more miserable than himself. That's why so much animosity exists on the internet. Those who aren't able to find a more miserable person, turn to the internet and call other people losers, even though they've never met. Just to make themselves feel superior. isn't that pathetic? In only ten years (1986-1996) I count 63 video game titles.I may need to recount. http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Dragon_Ball_video_games One Piece so far seems to only have like 50 something games in total. http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Video_Games I think you are under the impression that since the Dragon Ball series has already ended that One Piece will overtake it in video game sales. That is not so at all, Namco Bandai doesn't care how long ago DBZ ended they still frequently make DBZ games. Since Kai has came out their are games with that title as well .

One Piece games are not popular in the west. Unlike DBZ and Naruto games. And like DrGero said, DBZ games will continue be made, OP has no chance of catching up in that department.

Well of course One Piece will usually take center stage on the group shots. That still doesn't make for nearly 99% of the time, One Piece has had the biggest picture by a slight margin 3/6 times and has taken center stage 1/6 times in this year's group shots.

It goes without saying that One Piece is the biggest Manga, but even exaggerating a 99% lead over the rest is a bit unsightly.

I don't think so. Bandai Namco gets help from Dimps and Spike Chunsoft which was formerly Spike Co. Ltd (which are Japanese companies) so you are wrong. The point is DBZ games are still in development and it will be hard for One Piece to overtake it in videogames.

One Piece isn't popular in the west in general, so it would only make sense that the video games for OP isn't popular either.

If the Anime catches up so will the video games, its just about exposure.
