Of course Kirito would want a lightsaber instead of a gun. Hopefully this ends up being better than the first season, especially after that god awful second half.

I actually liked the second half of the first season a lot more than the first.

I haven't read the LN but nice start for this new art and will Kirito only use sword in it or gun also

In the opening if you look closely while he fights against Death Gun, you can see that he holds and shoots with a pistol, too. So in the one hand he has the lightsaber in the other one the pistol ;-)

SAO II was so far is pretty good. Most of the episode was talking between Kirito and Kikuoka Seijirou, but I liked it. It could've used maybe a little more excitement, but their conversation gave me strong .hack// vibes. It feels more like a mystery, and I think they're focusing more on the writing this time around. Maybe they learned from the mistakes of last season and are being more careful. Whatever the case, I liked it. Could've done without the ass shot at the end, but at least the ED was nice.

Anyone else getting .hack// vibes from it?

Again, deaths caused by VR...? Author should have tried to think up something new rather than recycling everything and wrapping it up with different setting. Same ideas over and over again.

Can't even imagine what terror another arcs must be, but I guess nothing can satisfy human greed for money...

But how are they being killed?
That's the thing. We knew right from the start in SAO's first arc that it was a shock to the brain. Now we don't know what's going on.

The idea of deaths caused by VR game remains. Everything else is just topping. I thought that author would give us some another plot twist, but I guess every arc is same. Some players die and Kirito shall save them all.

With that all being said, I'm giving it two more episodes.

Oh yeah! Great start. And mind-blow begins! Waited so long for my favorite show's 2nd season...

Great adaptation, good op (liza's still my favorite) great OST (once again Yuki shows us what great OST is), great artwork, and what is the most important - amazing adaptation! Jezz, I'm so hyped right now

I saw the first episode yesterday in a cinema theater and today I rewatched it. The relationship stuff with Asuna is annoying like always but the story seems to be interesting. And did the opening spoil who is Death Gun? o.O

I'm actually kinda glad this episode was a bit slow because that means that the show will probably be less rushed, which was one of my main issues with the Aincrad arc. I'm actually optimistic about this season now, it might be actually decent,.

Exactly my thoughts. They had alot of exposure to do, and they actually took the time to do it right. Good start so far.

It looks more promising than season 1; probably won't be anything amazing.I felt like the recap wasn't needed and became boring. I don't know if they planned for the Kirito x Asuna scenes to be romantic or cute but they were pretty cringey.

I might be being really picky because I hated the first season after expecting something good but "Death Gun" isn't as fearsome of a name as they tried to make it out to be, quite a shit name to be honest.

I liked the OST, suits the SAO vibe but I definitely prefer the OST for the first season.

I think Sinon will become a good character but I don't want to be let down if she isn't. I haven't read the LN so I might be wrong but I definitely think Death Gun will be a player from SAO or ALO but I could be wrong and the show may not be predictable.

Overall, mixed feelings.

Wow what a big mistery is behind that "Death Gun",very curious do discover how he kills people, probably because there is some unexplainable connecting that they still can't see.

Lol at people forcing themselves to hate on this already.

Anyway, fantastic start to the series. A little slower paced, but it was getting everyone back up to speed on the current events. Was nice to see Asuna and Kirito living a normal life there for a bit. The wait between episodes is going to be so brutal.

Well, that looked pretty good.

I nvr watched the first season of SAO, but I did read the LNs, so I nvr found out why ppl hated the first season so much.

But SAO II seems to b pretty weel done so far. I havent read the LNs beyond the first chapter of phantom bullet, but everything seems to be adapted quite faithfully. Maybe the producers will concentrate on fleshig out the characters and story more in this second season (which is what I heard the first season failed to do) and not fill the show with as much fanservice?

Btw, was that lightsaber wielding character in black that loked like a girl in the ED kirito??? Oh god, haha, didnt expect him to be a jedi xp... tho makes sense since he was a swordsman master in the previous games... still, u'd expect him to at least adhere to the rules of the game instead of being another special case like in alfheim... xp
The most annoying thing about some anime is that they don't know when they've died...

Then please enlighten me and tell me those "differences", 'cause I just see the same premise, which is supposed to hook viewers in.
And for the 3rd time it doesn't really work on me.

And I'm not forcing myself to hate on this, if that was hint for me.

I rated the first season with 9 and like I said, I love it. But I'm dissapointed with how author is handling next arcs. And as always die hard fans are already sulking and defending it like their life was on the line.

Just one thing...where were the dieing people in the second arc?

Also this is a mystery novel like setting: Something happens, you don't know the cause but there is an obvious cause you would think of first; only that in the end the cause was sth you totally didn't expect and is far and wide away from your first thought.

And after this arc the mood changes completely.

The differences were already stated in this 1st ep. The differences will be shown later as well.Instead talking crap for the sake of saying them, either watch and figure it out or drop it.

I dont care if it works for you or not, when what you see isnt even there.

By what you say, you dont seem to know about the later arcs so keep your bs down.

Wow... I guess SAO really is that kinda series that just attracts a lot of hate o.o... or at least, is the kinda series ppl love to say they dont like...

A lot of negative comments in this forum, despite it only being the first episode. As far as I know, the episode showed no fanservice except possibly that one butt scene which doesnt even seem like fanservice to me... the episode focussed mainly on building up the plot, whih I cant see as a bad thing (i cqnt see why ppl should complain abt it being boring... didnt steins gate also take forever to really get the ball rolling, and this is jus the first episode. And almost every scene in this episode seemed relevant in the built up to the later episodes) the animation was also pretty decent throughout, especially for the few action scenes.

I dunno... I dont think Im a fanboy... im not saying the series is a masterpiece cos its just the first episode, bt jus lamenting at how unforgiving ppl seem to be because it's SAO...
