| If I am abusing someone, then I probably have a reason, and want them to suffer, so it wouldn't make sense for me to benefit by having their memory wiped afterwards. Especially if it's something like mental abuse, which involves a lot of hard-work, it would suck to see the effort wasted in a memory wipe. It may be a tempting option for physical abuse, but the physical evidence may give it away; however, if they have no way to track it back to me, then it can be an effective tool. That being said from my experience mental abuse is more effective than physical abuse. Does this new memory deal make me want to abuse people who otherwise I wouldn't think twice of abusing? Not really, since I wouldn't gain any utility out of it if it's just a random person. Though it may provide for a good exercise in seeing how a person would react in certain scenarios and you wouldn't have to worry about the consequence. So in that regards it might be tempting from a social experiment point of view. |

| Physical abuse doesn't really interest me - and even if it did it'd be risky because it leaves traces that won't leave by just erasing their memory. Mental abuse won't be useful with someone who won't remember any of it. If I were able to do something to someone and then make them forget all about it... I would probably just steal a little bit of money and/or some other object that's easy to replace but annoying to lose. |
