I just want to hear your opinions. But for me it's Jpop. Cool lyrics, experimental instruments, wide variety and cute voices. They don't need those plastic surgery faces, dances or Music Video just to gain popularity.

J-pop. Biased opinion. This sums up why I like J-pop " experimental instruments, wide variety." This excludes idol groups.

KPOP in general.

The Japanese do compose very good music though... but mostly in other areas than pop music, I find- I can just look at all the FF OSTs for example.

Maybe you are always skipping the opening song of a show.

And yet another biased opinion joins the discussion. I've only heard a handful of KPOP songs before and I didn't like them, plus I'm too lazy to try more :P

I prefer k-pop (barely), but it's most likely because I understand the lyrics. That being said, I'm not a fan of either.

Can't say I have a strong leaning of one over the other. They can both be enjoyable.

Don't hit me.

Both. I don't really favour one over the other, although my k-pop tends to be upbeat/dance/pop and my j-pop tends to be chill/rock/pop.

I'm sure there's a dedicated j-pop thread around, but I can't seem to find it, so I'm posting this here.

Kazusa's Sore de ii yo EP is sooo good. Definitely recommended for those who like softer, piano centric stuff. The second track, Oboetemasuka, gives me the shivers.

I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking "did he fire six shots or only five?" Now to tell you the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

I like both but it also depends,

If I want to listen a solo or a few artist I listen Jpop.

If it is a group of artist than mostly Kpop.

Listening to sort of J-pop, some songs are from the 70s and 80s, especially songs with both meaningful lyrics and good melody. They are usually from talented groups with a good writer or simply singer-song-writers. And sometimes different groups share the same music arrangement who works with different musicians. Some even older folk songs are good too.

Had been attracted to cute voices and cute faces but they don't last long in general. Good songs make me want to scream or tears in my heart. Cute stuff in general doesn't work that way.

None. But if i had to choose it would be Jpop. I used to like kpop, but the fangirls disgusted me and i stopped listening about a year and a half ago. Now that i listen to some of the songs that i used to like, i wonder why the fuck i liked it. The only band that i find decent has to be DBSK. Too bad they're disbanded. Mirotic is awesome.
