I loathed Akito the Exiled really. Animation and everything is different. I hate it when they change the animations of an animes continuation...And its not even being directed by Goro Taniguchi!!!! Plus, Its not even Geass without CC! And to top it all off, it's not even placed in Japan. Like, really, whats up with that. I would say way to ruin an anime but Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion is so amazing no matter what things are made to try and counterpart it!!!! ♥ALL HAIL LELOUCH VI BRITANNIA! LONG LIVE JAPAN!!!!♥ |

LONG LIVE JAPAN!!!!♥ C.C will be in the 2nd episode apparently as will Suzaku. Also he's not Lelouch but I find Akito a pretty compelling lead and Layla isn't half bad either. So far I liked the first OVA better than the first couple episodes of the TV series so people can suit themselves but I'm content to wait it out a little longer if it's going to be to the quality of the first episode. Also mecha series OVA's are a little different because people on the project work as they are available so if another project comes up it can lead to delays. This has happened to the likes of Giant Robo, 08th MS Team, Gundam Unicorn, 0083 Stardust Memory to name a few in the past so it's hardly unique to this one. Obviously they don't want it to take too long, but this isn't like TV where there are super strict schedules to meet and everybody is always committed to the project to meet broadcast schedules. I have to assume this is the biggest delay and the next 2 episodes won't take as long and that it has something to do with resources getting put into the 35th anniversary celebration for Gundam though because even I agree that it really is taking a long time now that it's gotten postponed yet again to Fall. It could have made a difference in such a shitty season but oh well. |

The director here has two good shows under his belt so he's more than adequate, Akito looks to be going for something complete different to Geass, it's alot more serious and the SOL aspect is totally gone. CC is going to appear in the next episode and there's a reason it's not placed in japan.. it's showing the events in Britannia during the timeline of the original code geass... why would it be in japan? |

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

She already rocked it with that military uniform she refused to take off even for a party last episode, but this is taking it to dangerous levels of femme fatale. Hopefully she proves to be somewhat skilled inside the cockpit like she is with the CQC outside and doesn't just become a liability for Akito though. |

And my point is why do we care what happened in Europe during Lelouch of the Rebellion? Nothing ever happened in the show that involved any European Nations. The only ones where the Chinese Federation and small meetings taking place in other tiny subsequent Asian Countries. So, why? And after 50 episodes you become very adapt to a certain animation style. Again, nothing to do with Geass happens in Europe or at least that is never stated in Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion. It is true that it seemed to be there were multiple gates to the Ragnarok Connection. But again, what does that have to do with the previous situation? Lelouch obliterated Britannia my intentionally obliterating himself and Japan was saved. |

Lelouch obliterated Britannia my intentionally obliterating himself and Japan was saved. It's a spinoff, and my bad with my wording, I meant it showed the actions of Britannia in the EU. It's a spin off so it really doesn't matter that it doesn't directly affect the original code geass. At best it shows Schneizel's exploits before he went to japan and the obvious cameo appearances by Suzaku and CC. I don't see why you are complaining if you don't care for spin offs. I sorta boggles my mind. If it was a sequel I could see that..but a spin off? |

It is true that it seemed to be there were multiple gates to the Ragnarok Connection. But again, what does that have to do with the previous situation? Lelouch obliterated Britannia my intentionally obliterating himself and Japan was saved. Wrong, its called Britannia because within the Code Geass world history turned out differently, aka alternative timeline. You can learn more about this alternative timeline key differences in detail at the "Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion" club page. But in short summary the Romans could not invade the modern day British Isles, so the back than Celts do not adopt roman calender thus Code Geass's unique date system. New world/Americas discovered within same time span mass reserves of precious sakuradite are found in Japan. American Revolution fails, Napoleon wins Battle of Trafalgar and conquers British Isles, British Royal family leaves for new world and creates new Britannian Empire. The rest the viewer finds out as R1 Season plays out. Also between R1 and R2 Britannia conquers the E.U. with Schneizel leading the main forces taking more than half of their territories including Western Europe, Russia and all but Eastern Africa. Remember this would put pressure on the Chinese Federation since there were only 3 superpowers in the Geass world. With the balance of power disrupted and leaning towards Britannia of course the Chinese Federation would be next thus the story line in R2. In Boukoku no Akito the events would take place within the time Lelouch had his memories erased, between R1- R2. Sorry for responding to an old post :3 |

It really shouldn't be that confusing. The actual time frame is still the same. S1 end = Lelouch loses the duel against Suzaku, gets captured. The Emperor rewrites his memory (off-screen). Akito OVA 2 = "Julius" shows up in Europe...in the company of Suzaku. R2 start = Lelouch is in Ashford, brainwashed into being a normal student again. It should also be mentioned that "Julius" isn't going to be the protagonist but only a possible antagonist. Thus, technically they are two different characters and their roles won't be identical. |
