Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

Now, I found only two comparisons b/w Madoka and SnK in regards to their July releases, one was Bippo's, the other user's name I forgot (anyway, their posts are recent in the News thread). No doubt that they have expressed hopes of SnK beating Madoka, but it's nothing more than their two opinions on the subject. This is a topic, called How many DVD/BD will SnK sell?. There's only one (DarkLight's) post on Madoka and judging from the date, perhaps he meant the first week sales of the first BD vol. of Madoka - rounded at 53 000 and 9 000 for the DVD, which makes 62 000. Apparently, 62K>57K, but not so much off. Second, if you read the topic carefully, you'd see that the predictions of 100K came from the Amazon Stalker, not SnK fans wishful thinking - at least, I don't see anybody especially buying the predictions of BDs at 100K for anything anime, not only SnK. Pretty much, SnK sells as expected and great, close to highly niche series like Bake and Madoka. Also, the 4-chan's chart in the end doesn't include Stalker's prediction on Madoka movies. Not only UtaPri, but also Free! and Brothers Conflict move up the charts. Since 64 500 is also > than 62 000, Madoka will fight with another niche rival<-or so the preliminary sales say. Personally, I don't give a fuck either for Madoka, infinitely less for UtaPri (good that girls buy their stuff, though). If SnK sales, both manga and DVD/BDs are good enough to secure Season 2, I am pretty much set as a SnK fan. Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy 14 copies of SnK volumes each, I guess I am not that of a fanatic after all. In the light of this topic, I am seriously lacking - I actually think that such devotion is fascinating. |

Those predictions of 100k were 2 months from release date in that thread from Stalker. You do know that predictions will change as the rankings on Amazon change. It changes once a day when new data has been gathered by Stalker. Final Stalker prediction for SnK was around 77k for its 1st week sales. However I knew it wouldn't get that high, as Stalker tends to overestimate big releases. You should know that the majority of fans only buy multiple copies to get the differing extras that are offered at the many different retailers. It is a very small minority that buys multiple copies just for the sole reason of "supporting" an anime. |
