yeah and he's the best candidate for 2nd seasons villain :P

They could honestly turn Psycho-pass into a franchise with more then just 2 seasons. The whole idea behind Sibyl, the background stories of the characters, Kougami as an inspector, and how or if Sibyl will end or not. These are all potential questions, and things we would all love to know. I can't imagine this series just ending with only 22 episodes.

me too, i didn't read spoilers for 22th episode but checked "Kagari" with Cltr+F and couldn't find it, I guess that means his funeral isn't in the show. How come they showed sobbing at Yukis funeral and not a single word about Kagaris death? Seriously?

Yes, I want a second season. Probably a shorter one (11-12 eps.) or many OVAS.

I've heard the last episode was disappointing so I hope there's at least something.

It may be disappointing to some, but that doesn't mean it is not suitable for this kind of story.

I want infinite seasons of this, of course, I don't mean a direct sequel, but something, anything, based on the same setting and the same world.

That really bothers me that is Kasei really evil apparently? First she kills Kagari then she thought she's apparently Touma Kouzaburo then frames Kougami.

Totally. All depends how though.

IF
1. Kogami runs away or still must be hunted down, I'd like an S2. The feelings Akane has for Ko will be interesting and how she's gonna choose her side

2. If the Sybil system's eradication has failed and both Akane and Ko got killed, maybe a new Inspector or whatnot will question the Sybil system itself and maybe succeed the termination of Sybil

Just to let you know these are random fantasies and probably will never happen ;w;

I think an OVA will be god. Because like Makishima is already an amazing villain and i dunno! I wish they elaborated a bit more on yayoi maybe, kagari, and masaoka

I think ending it would be the most appropriate thing for this story, even if it is a somewhat open ending.

This is a single seasons story and anymore would just take away from the meaning of this story. Besides most of the important characters will probably be dead next episode so there's that too. I'd rather see some other unique concept get a chance than more Psycho-Pass, as much as I love it. There might be some room for OVAs that expand on the world of Psycho-Pass at large, but I don't think that's really necessary.

I think your 1. could be possible, and I wouldn't mind that happening. In fact I would love it. I would also love to see if any kind of romance between akane and Ko will develop, even if just the slightest amount.

Yeah but it won't be the same without Makishima. If it has an awesome antagonist and brings a definite end to a f*cked up system and brainwashed society, then yesplz. OVA's are welcome too.

Yes, but there was enough time to answer those in 22 episodes and I don't think the show will work without a character like Makishima

I'd imagine Akane becomes the new director, kogami becomes the new makshima and it does a whole kogami vs akane type thing.

Rather than having sequel, it's best to have a prequel 1st!!

I can predict that at least 12 episodes will be needed to fit in lots of unanswered questions from the past and digging in more on some characters' backgrounds.

Not a bad idea to have a prequel, it could answer a lot of questions about the past.

And yes a second season is a must.

Makishima was the backbone of the story, there's no way he could be replaced and Kougami was clearly leaving the country. The system cannot be destroyed until another form of government can replace it.
Season 2 will not/can not happen.

With the way the show ended, I personally wouldn't want a second season. If it ended in a way that set up a second season that continues where the first left off, then yea, definitely. Instead, Akane pretty much is all "fuck it, let someone else deal with the system".

Basically, a second season with the way it ended would be far inferior so I'd have to pass.

Well, if they made a second season, Akane would probably be taken out of the center, and the new recruit would most likely take her place, seeing as Sibyl is after Akane.
One other possibility is to carry on the story from another divisions perspective, having characters from the first series making occasional cameos.
But, I have to say that I've really enjoyed this series, and I wouldn't mind seeing either a second season or new series based on it.

What if there's a second season/OVA/Movie or whatever, and it reveals that after Kougami kills Makishima he's been having severe hallucinations about Makishima like he did at the end of episode 17? I think that'd be interesting to watch. Many people are also speculating that if there was a second season, Kougami would come back as the antagonist.

To be honest nah. I'm good. I would have liked to see what happened to kogami but I don't see a need for a second season really.

Kogami never really knew the truth behind the system and the system is to much for even him to take down. I personally liked the way it ended.

Second season is good..but since Kougami is not in team, I want movie or OVA rather than second season..I want to know where is Kougami is and what will happen to Akane if she found him out.

I only want a second season if there will be another Cyborg Man.
They really fucked up badly by disposing of the Cyborg Man way too early.
He should have been there at the end for the final showdown.

Because otherwise, I would rather there just be a movie or OVA.

I wouldn't mind an OVA to give some back stories on the characters and flesh them out a bit (Kagari and shion for example) though I see little reason for a continuation of the series.

I love Psycho-Pass, but I don't want a second season or continuation, because I think it would go against the entire point of this ending. The entire Makishima case was ultimately meaningless, Kogami is on a boat to presumably go to a country that doesn't suck shit, and Akane is going to meekly fight against Sibyl forever without accomplishing anything because she refuses to fully commit to one thing. At the very end, everything is back to exactly how it was in episode one.

A season two would be exactly the same, and it would end the same way. The message that I took away from it was that society as a whole is complacent. Makishima appeared to disrupt the status quo, but as soon as he was taken down everything just went back to the way it had been.

I agree. Anime usually starts to decline in quality as they get more season. Wouldn't want them screwing this show up in a second season, but on the other hand they might make it just as good if not better.

But a movie could be interesting.

The "problem" with plot driven show is that it can be easily harmfull to extend them past the initial story.

I could see a movie about kougami is past as an inspector. However, I find second seasons a lot more intriguing!

Hmm, I kinda feel mixed. Like Tryss mentioned the story had such a nice subtle end that wasn't to negative yet not overly super, happy-ending positive. It just seem very maturely the did that, that I'm not too sure I want that messed up. Yet on the other hand, I wouldn't mind getting some more PP in some measure. I feel like at least if they don't do a full 2nd season, I'd at least like to see something like an OVA or movie or something.

(after all I'd be curious to hear about some of the other characters past or just to see what kind of life Kougami & Akane have after the events and if they meet each other again)
