A fine ending. I guess i will give it an eight out of ten. I think my favorite scene from this series was Saber's behaviours when they were watching a movie. The thing I wanted to mention here is that, the supposedly "historical" characters were horrible, only if they had a better character build... |

i really love the ending, the ending ONLY..this sequel bored me as hell, the master and servants character are not well developed unlike the 1st series.. shirou annoys me i dunno why.. i can onlly feel that this is a sequel at ep20-24(when they talk about what happen 10yrs ago),. |

I mean, I've never read the VN so perhaps the scene of him using the last command seal is more detailed, but I'm pretty sure that they didn't distinctly show him using it even though Saber asked him to. Perhaps she did it out of her own volition, and this leaves room for a plot twist for a sequel or something, but I'm probably overanalyzing it. As you can tell from my avatar, I've learned to be skeptical of the endings of series. |

Correct me if I'm wrong though Sorry Im a noob and I probably missed this but whats Avalon? I personally liked F/SN. Shirou really pissed me off in the beginning but he slowly grew on me. Saber got cuter as the season progressed as well. Dat ending though was too sad. And you guys saying its the happiest possible ending, guess I wont be playing the VN then. I came into this anime straight off Fate/Zero. This was not the "Piece Of Shit" other people have been saying it is, I thought it was a pretty nice. I enjoyed being able to piece some stuff I was confused about in Fate/Zero together as I watched this series. I also believe I spoiled myself about some stuff in the franchise, but in this anime I loved how they threw hints out about the other arcs in the game without distracting from the main arc they were animating. This anime also did something other anime adaptions of Visual Novels(CLANNAD) haven't, it makes want to find a copy of the game and play it. My score for Fate/Stay Night is 7/10. NEXT on the list Unlimited Blade Works. PS: The reason I use CLANNAD is because the anime was such a 'complete' experience I didn't feel the need to see the game. |

I have a couple of questions about this anime; but it will spoil you on Fate/Zero if you haven't seen that series. I saw Fate/Zero before Fate/Stay Night; so I was wondering (DON'T CLICK IF YOU DIDN'T SEE FATE/ZERO) : What happens to Velvet Waver? Why isn't Sakura evil like they tend to make us believe in Fate/Zero's ending? What happen to the Matou head? How come Kotomine Kirei was killed so easily, him that could fight on par with a 3x acceleration by Kiritsugu? Why didn't Saber remember everything about the last war, including Kotomine Kirei? What about Rider's (Alexander the Great/Iskandar's) words of wisdom? Why weren't Ilya's parents, including Kiritsugu Emiya, mentionned??? (BIG FLAW) These questions in my opinion, unless someone can answer or if the manga/visual novel/whatever explains it, represent a big big big flaw in the anime series. Hard to blame which though... since Fate/Zero was so perfect, but came after Fate/Stay Night. As for this series, I was deceived they didn't talk about the Heroes' past as much as they did in Fate/Zero. It's a deception because it made us viewers closer to the characters. For instance, Lancer's death in Fate/Stay Night gave me no feeling whatsoever. They don't explain Sakura and Rin's blood link... even though we know if we watch Fate/Zero. Meh, many flaws, compared to the masterpiece that is the prequel. |

@ blob I think a lot of people who've only seen the Fate/stay night anime get confused like this. As far as Fate/Zero is concerned /stay night's anime adaptation may as well not even exist. The thing is that a lot of the stuff you mentioned, Such as Sakura's nature, her relationship with Rin, and Ilya's parentage are covered in the Visual novel but not in the route that the anime of /stay night adapted. Actually, I don't believe anything I just brought up was covered into the final route "Heaven's Feel", which just so happens to be the only route not animated as of yet. |

Meh, many flaws, compared to the masterpiece that is the prequel. This is the reason why Fate fans ALWAYS reccommend to read the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel and the then read/watch Fate/Zero -Waver: He is not important at all during the events of the 5th War but 10 years later he,now as Lord El-Melloi II(yes that was Kayneth's title) along with Rin return to Fuyuki and completely destroy the Greater Grail which puts an end to the Heaven's Feel(only in the Fate and Unlimited Blade Works routes).Waver 10 years after the events of FZ: /spoiler] ![]() -Sakura never was evil at the end of FZ.But She is mentally broken to the point that even Zouken CANT make her despair or feel pain anymore which is a huge let down for him.In Fate/Stay Night you/Shirou isnt supposed to know about Sakura's backstory and think of her as a normal girl. -Zouken Just like in the 4th war he didnt plan to participate in the 5th war either.Reason #1 is that Shinji(Kariya's nephew and Byakuya's(the guy Kiritsugu was torturing when Iri wa kidnapped) son doesnt even have magic circuits and #2 he was planning to enter the next war using the child Sakura would have with some other magus. All that changes in the final route of the VN, Heaven's Feel were Zouken finds a way to break Sakura even more which turns her into a Holy Grail vessel -Kirei Kirei is weaker than in FZ because of his revival. If he was to fight Kiritusgu in his prime then he would have been killed.Of course that doesnt mean that he can be killed that easily. The anime showed Shirou running a dozen meters after he used Avalon while Kirei was just standing there unlike in the VN where he was almost right in front of Kirei and hit him while he was surprised by his ability since unlike during his battle with Kiritsugu he was underestimating his opponent.Note that if Shirou hadnt landed his second punch to the Azoth dagger Kirei wouldnt have died.In Heaven's Feel we get to see the "real" Kotomine Kirei. -Saber Most of Saber's memories of the 4th war feel like a dream. Then I am sure that Iri and Kiritsugu mentioned Kirei's name very few times( or none) for her to actually remember. She doesnt care about Alexander's words.Saber already knew what Rider was telling her,her wish pretty much shows that, the problem is that she wont accept it especially in front of other's. -Kiritsugu,Iri In the anime it is hinted in a single ep that he is Ilya's father(if I remember correctly we see a shadow that REALLY matches Kiritsugu.Ilya doesnt talk match about him because she thinks that he abandoned her(thats the story told by her grandfather).Saber even in the VN doesnt mention ANYTHING about Kiritsugu and Iri being Ilya's parents but that's because she doesnt believe that the girl she saw playing with Kiritsugu would be sent to the war(and also be so twisted)and it could possible be a different homonculus. She never asked Iri about her daughters name either.Although there is a single scene in the VN fate route(the one we see in the anime) after Ilya is defeated where Saber comments about her appearance and how she doesnt want to see her get dirty, particularly her hair that everyone who knew her mother said how similar and beautiful they are.Everyone else in FSN either didnt knew Iri or wouldnt bother comment about her like Kirei. In Heaven's Feel Shirou pretty much figures it out by himself and tries to create a family for Ilya(as a sibling).Iri isnt mention there either The anime is a big flaw by itself that's why 99,9% of Fate/ fans say to stay away from it.As for the original source of both FZ and FSN which one is better depends on each individual fan. They didnt even talk about the humans, why would they talk about the Heroic Spirits. The backstories of the Servants of FSN are as big as those of FZ but they are scattered all over the place and are overshadowed by the backstories of Saber and Archer. It doesnt help that Alexander's Noble Phantasm is basically the best representation of a Servant's past.Dont expect much of char development by studio Deen.Although Lancer isnt that great till the 2nd route.Rider is literally nobody even in the VN until you reach the final route. That is the point. As I said before we arent supposed to know,Heck we arent supposed to know a lot till we reach the other routes(Archer's identity in UBW route,Rider's in HF,Sakura's past,Zouken, the Corruption of the Grail all in HF and others). The studio even tried to put their relationship in the anime with a retarded arc with Caster where Sakura was wearing latex lingerie....at that point I didnt know about the VN and I still found it ridiculous. They also failed to get the message across since half of the anime only viewers thought that Sakura and Rin were just childhood friends....:/ For now the only part of Heaven's Feel that we have animated(and by Ufotable) is this And no I dont count the PS2 HF OP since it might as well use the char sprites for the first 15 secs of the video. |

blob said: ssjokg said: Hehe wow thanks, that's the kind of answer I was waiting for. What is Heaven's Feel btw? A sort of remake of FSN? No it's a route in the VN, as in a story arc. There are three in Fate/stay night: Fate- The one this anime series is based on. Unlimited Blade Works - the one the movie of the same name is based on. Heavens Feel- which has no anime adaptation. Basically the VN at a certain point branches off into one of the three routes, they are their own continuity but at the same time each one of these routes builds off what you learn in the previous routes. Because of this you are required to read through the order I typed above. |

Bitter ending really. I didn't played VN or read manga or watched Fate/zero yet, but i must say this is really good anime. Overall i give this anime 9. It is not 10 because it has that bitter ending, and there are really some good contradiction in some parts.Oh yes i almost forgot the music! One of best anime music i heard in this anime, one of most reason it got 9 from me, because it is closer to 8 then 10. If you ask me in that last scene it is almost like i thought wtf is this Archer? I think there is a lot of room left for another season of 24episodes with these main characters that survive in the end. Let me say this straight: "I don't think that Saber is dead!". Shiro said in the end that he has long path to walk until he reaches it(her). Eventually those two will be together because the grail will grant them that wish. One good thing about this anime is that there are so many possibilities and so may ways to bring back Saber back with Shiro. Main reason behind this is big veil mystery about grail. And yes this anime has abstract ending. If writers and stuff ever decide to bring up new season from this it will either be huge success or fail depending on how they decide to continue story. Only success i see in connecting Saber and Shiro again, of course there would be Rin and Archer in series too, but this time i would like to see some other way of fight not master and servant together, rather Shiro and Saber trying to meet each other and live in one world together. Lots of ideas are crossing my mind, lots of possibilities. |

In overall very good anime. Nice love story, and story development in. It has super music!! One of main reason it got high mark from. Because of bitter and sad ending and large contradiction, i almost give it 8, but music and abstract ending save it of bare 9. I didn't read manga or VN, or watched Fate/Zero. I also wanted to see more Archer in scenes, one bad ass character. Ok to me was clear from the moment that those that crossed words there is some connection (i mean connection on personality). I must tell that in the last scene where Saber was brought by her night, i really got impression that that was Archer. In mine opinion there are a lot of ways to made new season with return of Saber and connecting her to Shiro again. Many ideas cross my mind, but i don't thing Saber is dead. Shiro said eventually he will reach it (her). There is big veil of mystery around holy grail power and granting wishes, so that is my main reason to think that after Saber completed what she wanted and died in past, she will be reborn in the future to be with Shiro or something like that, but point is Shiro has a path to cross first if he wants to meet her. One of mine main reason for her to be alive is also, the fact that there is no point in coming back to past, even if one can change the past future will be changed, if one survive someone else will die, there is no point in that. Point was that one cannot live in the past. The idea about past is similar to one in Code Geass, if someone watched you know what i mean. |

For some reason I thought I was reading a Fate/Zero forum. When I saw all of the abuse the anime was getting I was really irritated, Fate/Zero was absolutely fantastic, just great. But Fate/Stay Night was just awful. The protagonist was a useless misogynist, I hated him all through the anime, it'll never go away either, as far as I'm concerned this anime doesn't exist, Saber didn't become some blushing simpleton and she remains the badass we adore in Fate/Zero. I almost didn't watch Fate/Zero, I didn't want to have to suffer through another awful anime following a pathetic moron who appears to believe that women should just sit at home and look nice. I fucking hate him. So much. ....... Still... Fate/Zero is worth watching, it's actually good. |

I want ufotable to do this but DEEN still has the rights for F/SN so right now having that HF route adaptation would be unlikely but I'm still hoping. |

i love fate stay night but i think i would be better if the ending was happy. trajic ending makes it different but endings should always be happy. |

YOU as the viewer,if you paid attention, should know that she would "die" in the end. And no it shouldnt be happy if it contradicts what was established by the plot. |

That's most likely why its juts "good" ending. Tahmid said: i love fate stay night but i think i would be better if the ending was happy. trajic ending makes it different but endings should always be happy. you must be new here. let me tell how Type Moon endings work: - ANGST. - TEARS. - DEATHS. - UNHAPPINESS. - PLOT TWISTS. - SEPARATION. Mind you there's always a note of positivity in them(hence why DEEN adaptations fail), but its never truly happy. |

KNK ending is still depressing and a bit bitter, but for different reasons. Each type moon ending is "realistically happy" - as in nothing just suddenly becomes "happily living after"-able and instead certain sacrifices are to be made, as life goes on. Its never church wedding with wings beneath my wings playing as background. There's always undertone of sadness, with focus on positive outlook towards the outcome. Even saber's ending IS happy. Although Bittersweet, but positive and happy, because she essentially regained sense of self and died happy and without much regrets, instead being stuck in a hellish limbo loop of repeating tragedies and deaths like Ilya-Shiro was. |

[ I dont think that shippers care about that...Who cares if Sakura or Ilya die if it brings Saber and Shirou together etc... |
